1.Say hello to your neighbors:
Send your neighbors hand-made invitation card to join your party.
Also ask them to to bring their best apple pies to a bake-off.
Invite your neighbors and kids to stuff a scarecrow.
And last but not the least, pile up all the leaves.
2.Set up the Autumn Atmosphere:
To enhance festive atmosphere set out picnic tables with Indian corn, hay bales, pumpkins and fall basket.
To give a warm welcome to your friends put a sign of 'fall festival: Games, fun and food. To make it little more attractive and natural, you can tape the signs into a hay bale and surround with a pile of leaves. It will look gorgeous.
Use Wagon or riding mower trailer:
Just fill any wagon big or small, or riding mower trailer with hay. You can pull kids around the yard and through the leaves
3.Pumpkin painting:
In fall parties pumpkin painting doubles the joy. Let kids paint goofy, surprised, creepy faces on pumpkins. Leave them with their imagination. Only you must cover the picnic table with newspaper or plastic sheet, tape it down so it doesn't blow away. Place liquid tempera paints, paintbrushes with water filled in plastic cups for rinsing the brushes.
4.Plan leaf pile games
Planning leaves games will add more fun and excitement in kids. Leaf bagging contest sounds really good to me. You can do these games at the end of your party which will leave your yard spotless.
Musical piles: Make a circle of small leaf piles, one less than the number of players. Follow the same rules used in musical chairs; playing a portable radio and raking away one pile each round. This must be fun for kids. Even I enjoyed this game last year.
Leaf Blowing: Ask each player to collect one large leaf and hold their leaves just above their mouths and puff heartily. The person whose leaf flees highest overhead wins.
Bag the leaves: Finally pair up players and place a supply of plastic lawn bags in a central spot. See which team can fill the most bags in a set amount of time.In no time your yard will be neat and clean.
5.Keep the food simple
I am always attracted to simple and similar foods. Hot dogs, hot cider with side foods and apple pie will work perfectly.
You can also build a bonfire and wait for the stars to come out and don't forget to play the famous Halloween songs all through the party.
