I received a full-size free sample of new Sensodyne Iso-Active foaming gel multi-action toothpaste from SheSpeaks.com last week. I am supposed to try it out for 2 weeks, and I have tried it for about a week so far now. My brochure says that this toothpaste that comes in a canister is a "first-of-its-kind toothpaste" that penetrates hard-to-reach areas in your mouth and thoroughly cleans your mouth and relieves sensitivity. Its gel-to-foam action is a result of the inclusion of isopentane which responds to increases in temperature caused by the warmth of the mouth. The gel transforms into microfine foam during brushing and offers all around protection and sensitivity relief.
I have used regular Sensodyne toothpaste in the past because I have receding gum lines and sensitive teeth. Hot and cold food items cause my teeth to hurt on contact. I like the new canister format of this new product with the pump because it is easier to use and will last longer than a tube. The gel does shoot out quickly so you have to be careful not to push the pump too aggressively or you will have a big mess. I am not finding the foam to be very "foamy." It does not seem to form a foaming bubbly lather in my mouth and is like regular toothpaste gel. The taste of the gel could be improved. It does not taste as good as the regular minty toothpaste. There is actually no flavor listed on the canister, so I am not sure if it is supposed to be mint flavor. After a week of use, I still experience sensitivity with hot, cold, acids, sweets and contact. I just had my teeth cleaned at the dentist yesterday, and my teeth are still very sensitive. The dentist asked if I was using a sensitivity toothpaste, and I told them I was. I assume it will just take more time to build up the protection this product advertises. The bottle says that it "builds increasing protection against painful sensitivity of the teeth" and "aids in the prevention of dental cavities." It also recommends visiting the dentist if pain and sensitivity persists after four weeks of use. I will have to see after four weeks of use if I have any improvement in my symptoms. I will post again then to report what happens. Stay tuned!
If anyone else has tried this product, I would love to hear about your experience with it!
