Daily Whine & Shine - Wednesday, September 30, 2009
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Whether you agree with the concept or not, everyone needs to be able to vent from time to time. That's especially true if you're one of the many who suffer from an invisible illness. We have whines and rants about pains, medical professionals and prescriptions, just to name a few. Perhaps our families listen; perhaps they don't. Even if they do, they get tired of our complaining, even if they claim to understand our struggles. Or if they don't get tired of our "negative energy" we think they do or will.
Do you need to rant about something? Tell us about it.
Do you have some celebration or victory you need to share? This is the place.
What's happening in your world today? Are you grumpy about something? Or so angry you could spit? Tell it here. Here at the Daily Whine & Shine, it's acceptable to rant, vent, complain, stomp your feet, throw a tantrum, and shout, "Oh shuckie darn!"
Wait! Don't go away! Do you have some good news to share? Great. This is the place for that as well. If you're celebrating, dancing, and yelling, "Yippee Skippy!" please share. Sometimes knowing about someone else's happiness gives us a bit of hope for ourselves.
Whether you're shouting, "Oh shuckie darn!" or yelling, "Yippee skippy!" - this is the place to be. Pull up a rocking chair, and let's talk about it.
Now, let's celebrate!!!

Food for Thought:
There is no nonsense so arrant that it cannot be made the creed of the vast majority by adequate governmental action. Bertrand Russell (1872 - 1970)
The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. H. L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)
You will find that the State is the kind of organization which, though it does big things badly, does small things badly, too. John Kenneth Galbraith (1908 - 2006)
The mystery of government is not how Washington works but how to make it stop. P. J. O'Rourke (1947 - )
It is dangerous to be right when
the government is wrong. Voltaire

I woke up this morning at 6:30 with my little doggy wanting to go outside. The other animals all came a-running figuring I was up for the day and ready to feed them. WRONG. I told them all I was going back to bed for a while...and I did.
And I didn't wake up again until 11! That's highly unusual for me. And I'm surprised that the animals let me sleep so long. I guess they sensed that I needed it. I guess I did.
I just wish that I could wake up one day without pain and fatigue, without the stupid skin condition I have on my hands and feet, without having thinned skin.
The skin condition on my feet has been driving me NUTS. Some days, the bottoms of my feet feel as if someone has taken a match and burned off all the surface skin. It actually looks that way as well. And the underneath skin is so sensitive that walking makes it BURN, BURN, BURN. It hurts soooooooooooo bad. Even sitting can hurt my feet, if I rest them on the floor. So.....sometimes I crawl into bed just so my feet will stop screaming.
Then the stupid thinned skin.....
Last night, I was trying to get some shrimp to thaw out more quickly than they would have on their own. You know what happened? A tiny piece of ice stabbed me and I bled all over the kitchen. Yep. A piece of ice.
Then this morning...as I was opening some cat food, I bumped my hand on the kitchen counter. I hardly felt it and the gentle bump would not have made one bit of difference to most people. But I'm not most people. I've had 80 year old skin since I was in my early 40s. That bump caused a nice red welt and if I bump in that same place again today - which is likely - then it will open and bleed. Welcome to my world.
You sure are having a terrible day... Prayers sent your way...
Things have turned out for the best last nite and this am here in Gatherland.
But I still in pain....still have to finish that yucky laundry that I had put off for two weeks.
How depessing.
Boy I can relate about the laundry thing. Since hubby works and has just enough clothes for work each week, I have to do his laundry regularly. But boy do I let mine go because going up and down the basement stairs kills me.
Me, I just returned form a visit wiht my shrink. She says I am still marginally sane. Thank heaven for little things. :-)
I hope your day is getting better.
If you go, tell her that Ann Williams referred you.
I also love Dr. Koo at St. Elizabeth's holistic health for acupuncture. He is awesome!
I hope today is better!
a man came up and asked if he could have the dryer that does not work sitting in the driveway up by our house. I said take it. - could be shine..yeah got rid of something we no longer use.
But than got to thinking, my husband could of taken the dryer in and scraped it out for some cash we badly needed. I think he will whine when he gets home today. I think I may have screwed up doing my good deed. Ugh!!
Bubble wrap? Not a bad idea.
She said Dakota need a little extra time to ' unwind' to night . I said jokingly, "unwind or un-whine??'' Seems it was really the latter./// Take care. Hope today ( it's 1a.m. Thurs norning---) is sooo much better. Lonnie Fowler.
