Daily Whine & Shine - Wednesday, June 24, 2009
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Whether you agree with the concept or not, everyone needs to be able to vent from time to time. That's especially true if you're one of the many who suffer from an invisible illness. We have whines and rants about pains, medical professionals and prescriptions, just to name a few. Perhaps our families listen; perhaps they don't. Even if they do, they get tired of our complaining, even if they claim to understand our struggles. Or if they don't get tired of our "negative energy" we think they do or will.
Do you need to rant about something? Tell us about it.
Do you have some celebration or victory you need to share? This is the place.
What's happening in your world today? Are you grumpy about somiething? Or so angry you could spit? Tell it here. Here at the Daily Whine & Shine, it's acceptable to rant, vent, complain, stomp your feet, throw a tantrum, and shout, "Oh shuckie darn!"
Wait! Don't go away! Do you have some good news to share? Great. This is the place for that as well. If you're celebrating, dancing, and yelling, "Yippee Skippy!" please share. Sometimes knowing about someone else's happiness gives us a bit of hope for ourselves.
Whether you're shouting, "Oh shuckie darn!" or yelling, "Yippee skippy!" - this is the place to be. Pulll up a rocking chair, and let's talk about it.
Now, let's celebrate!!!

Happy Wednesday! Happy Swim a Lap Day and Celebration of the Senses Day!
It's still hot and muggy, but I won't complain too much. I like lots better than winter cold.
I think President Obama celebrated "Fight The Flithy Fly" month when he whacked that fly during that interview with Charles Gibson. PETA's not too happy with him but my message to them is DEAL WITH IT! Flies carry germs!
Agreed, Kerrell. My son is a PETA member and he kills ants and flies and bugs. They need to get a life.
LOL! Great list of stuff to celebrate!
I stopped complaining, nobody listens LOL!
Ginger, would you like a basket of smiles?
We do, Ginger. :)
Thanks you gals made me smile! and that is worth alot! Rant on!
Marilyn sorry I have been MIA. If I could possibly think of something to rant about (Hmmmm, not on such a beautiful day!) who would want to listen. I am in to good a mood today to rant. I say "Rave On"!
I am sending a basket of smiles to everyone feeling at all down today.
Thanks, Chana. Nice to see you today.
Whine: a bit too hot today (going to be hitting close to 90*) and we have no place to go swimming :( Would love to get out with the kiddo to some place where we can keep cool and have fun. Thought hubby had more cash than he did, and so instead of putting the money into the gas tank - I put it into the checking account instead to make sure we don't over draft again.
Shine: We had some money to put into the account and so far we are still in the positive (not to say that I trust the bank at all) and we now have some gas in the van thanks to our landlord. He owns a farm and has a gas pump behind our house to fuel his tractors and other machines and he told us that if we need some gas we could use some but let him know so we can pay him back. I put in 5gal today which got us close to 1/2 tank :) so we will make it to Friday, but now we owe him more money :(
I hope that Friday brings a good mail day (I am waiting on a check from a survey, a gift card from my pregnancy program and my husbands school stipend check). We could really use some extra funds to get us back on top again.
I hate always telling my son no when we are in the store...for those stupid little thing just because we can't afford it. I would like to get him something nice this week...I've been promising him two things that he really wants, but we just havne't been able to get either one for him...so hopefully it will start to fall together on Friday :)
Sorry for the long post
I do hope things ease up for you soon, Cyndi.
I could use a hug :-(
Awww, Pamela, I just read your letter to your Daddy. I do wish we lived closer so I could give you a real hug.
((((((((hugs!!!))))))))
Thank you sweetie, it means a lot that you are there for me.
Marilyn I wanted to say hi to every one but to be hnonest I am so tired of this drained feeling as if I can not even get energy enough to raise my arms to do anything. I have no want to do a thing but sleep. Today is timmy's Birth day and hes 9 months old today and I do not even know if he is ok or not. That is Gerald's Little boy. I miss what would have been my son had Gerald stayed with me. All I ever wanted was to be a wife and mom. This hurts woirse than the other situation you know about. I spent face to face time with this child. Marilyn Help How Do I Stop This HurtTing I Have In My Heart?
I know I'm a broken record, but I would be insisting on finding out what happened. Knowing how things have been for you in the past with family, well...I would be finding out - on my own - what happened.
No whines, just a shine! I heard from my nephew, Michael, after a few years of being out of touch with other. Actually, I was afraid to call him because I thought he would be upset with me being that his mom and I have stopped talking to each other. I had to leave a message, but I hope to talk to him soon.
I am just so angry with myself, you know how I am looking for a new place to live, well I had a place to see tonight, I save it on the computer and guess what I can't find it, and I couldn't get it back again and now tht is a another lost opportunity.
