Daily Whine & Shine - Tuesday, June 23, 2009
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Whether you agree with the concept or not, everyone needs to be able to vent from time to time. That's especially true if you're one of the many who suffer from an invisible illness. We have whines and rants about pains, medical professionals and prescriptions, just to name a few. Perhaps our families listen; perhaps they don't. Even if they do, they get tired of our complaining, even if they claim to understand our struggles. Or if they don't get tired of our "negative energy" we think they do or will.
Do you need to rant about something? Tell us about it.
Do you have some celebration or victory you need to share? This is the place.
What's happening in your world today? Are you grumpy about somiething? Or so angry you could spit? Tell it here. Here at the Daily Whine & Shine, it's acceptable to rant, vent, complain, stomp your feet, throw a tantrum, and shout, "Oh shuckie darn!"
Wait! Don't go away! Do you have some good news to share? Great. This is the place for that as well. If you're celebrating, dancing, and yelling, "Yippee Skippy!" please share. Sometimes knowing about someone else's happiness gives us a bit of hope for ourselves.
Whether you're shouting, "Oh shuckie darn!" or yelling, "Yippee skippy!" - this is the place to be. Pulll up a rocking chair, and let's talk about it.
Now, let's celebrate!!!

National Pink Day......
that's the color my skin's starting to turn....going in and out even a few times so far today......
hahaha....Good morning Marilyn,...........
Hi Randee. Good to see you. I focused on the "Let Go Day" today. :)
Happy Tuesday. I refuse to complain (too much) about the temperature and humidity, because I much prefer the hot to the winter cold. At least summer heat does not set my joints to hurting.
I love the summer.
spent my summers as a youth and preteen in Cali....I'm a Sun Child........
I'm not going to whine, because I've just decided to be the sunshine guy again......
yeah, right.......
I do miss some of my friends who still can't access Gather yet.....
they'll find their way back, I'm sure.....
Marilyn wanted to respond to something you said yesterday about my calling gerald, I did xontact him yesterday but heard nothing back so far. To be very honest as long as it has been sence he was around me I dought he will call back.
He owes you an explanation, Angela. I wouldn't let him off the hook.
Marilyn I agree he owes me a exsplanation just like others owe me exsplanations of why they made me promises they never kept ad answers to my satisfaction but the truth is I am never ever going to get the answers I need from anyone and I am donr trying to get them I am to tierd. All I want to do is go hide in a hole some place and let things just pass me by. I hate feeling like this but at least i am being truthful about how I feel But the way I feel right now if I even ran into him some place I would most likly be arested for assault. I want to strangle him.
Still depressed here ,but fighting it with all my power. *sigh* will life ever be easy even for just 5 minutes?
Grrr. I hate depression. I think I get hit more in the summer, Pamela, because there is more evidence of what I can no longer do. I used to love summer because it was the time to DO THINGS. Amusement parks, fairs, rummage sales, garage sales, museum trips, whatever.
I have been in the North East for two weeks and it has rained almost every day. What's up with that?
Looking forward to that extra second on Leap Second Time Adjustment Day
Some trip, huh?
We're always looking for more time. :)
Good morning Marilyn,
Have a blessed day.
Hi Janet, my friend. I do want to come to Pittsburgh in August!!!
Happy Toozday, Marilyn!!!
Here's hoping the Lord is blessing you
And surprising you with blessings ever once and a while.....
Keep your halo polished!! :>)
Hi Berf. Don't usually see you here, but it's nice. :)
My halo? You're so funny. I think I said/did one thing for which I got kudos yesterday. :)
Okay, I'm really hating the points system right now. It used to be that if you posted something, it would add to your points. I came here this morning with 666 as my total and it's still my total. I'm not liking that.
The points are slower, but I have managed to post more, as my focus sgifts from points to posting, and the like, which, by the way Marilyn, a big thanks to you for visiting and commenting on my posts!
Returning the favor, and glad to do so!
The juries still out, for me anyway, on the new point system.
I think Gather, as far as "atmosphere" goes, has changed drastically.
It seems to be more somber....slightly melancholy....and....and....well, kind of "lonlier" these days......
I don't know, maybe it's just me.
People seem a lot more discouraged than disgruntled.....
Oh well......**sigh**
Yeah. People who depended on income from here are not pleased. :) And marketing your own posts is a bit of a chore.
My points have been ridiculous but I'm hoping they will come up with a 3x point or a 10 pt. a picture like they did last year. Fingers crossed here!!
Whine: I just checked my checking account balance expecting to find around $5.00 and only found .21 cents! Our gas tank is on empty and we have to somehow make it to Friday while hopefully not overdrafting that stupid account. Last time I overdrafted by $1.00 and lost $80!
Shine: Only a few more days until payday **trying to be positive**
I'm so sorry, Cyndi.
I am too hot to vent I don't have the energy lol
I understand. On Tuesday, our temperatures weren't quite so high and we had a slight breeze. Thankfully.
its so hot i practically melted today running errands.
Yeah. My car still has no a/c. Gets pretty miserable.
is anyone else like me when I am hot I just want to sleep
I am alive...shine
Gather....whine
the good: my boyfriend put me on his wireless family plan so now I have a cell phone!
he also is going to pay my back back part of my cable bill so that we don't lose services here at my mom's house yet.
the bad: it's so stinking hot out! I can't get anything done for the heat in the basement where I stay....and others are running me ragged out in the heat all day.
I also am suffering from bad teeth. I can't chew anything for the pain...even not chewing is painful :(
