Here it is!! My specialty -- beef and vegetable kabobs. I posted the marinade recipe before, but here it is again: 1 cup vegetable oil, 3/4 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 cup mustard, 1 1/2 tsp. black pepper, 4-6 cloves minced garlic, and 1 tsp. meat tenderizer.
I bought 4 pounds of top sirloin steaks and cut them into bite-sized chunks, then put them in a bowl with marinade to soak. I soaked them just over 24 hours.

This is the meat after soaking for 24 hours.

Putting together the kabobs. I used the meat, onions, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, assorted peppers, and canned potatoes.

Kabobs all ready to take out to the grill! I grill them for about 20-30 minutes, depending on how rare you like the meat. Turn frequently to keep them juicy.

We ate the kabobs with fresh fruit on the side. The bowl has strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. We also had potato salad. It was a perfect summer meal!

They look great! I am thinking about doing them for my son's birthday in August
I am sure he would love them! I think next time, I'm going to let my kids put together their own. They kept handing me their peppers, tomatoes, and onions. LOL
Looks good! I think I'll put this on the menu for next weekend!
me too!
wow, these look amazing!
You make that look sooo easy ~ looks delicious
They are very easy to make, really. Just a lot of cutting things up and putting them on the stick. It's simple, and it's something everybody can help with.
Yummy! We always used bottled salad dressing as the marinade, but this sounds good.
I've used Italian dressing in the past, but I came across a recipe for marinade once, and I've been tweaking it ever since. I think I've got it the way I like it now, although somebody made the suggestion of dijon mustard, so I might just try that next time. Or honey mustard if I used chicken.
it looks great
looking good,
Sounds and looks really good.
I licked my lips all the way through. And I just ate!
Looks good, can I use beef stew or is the sirloin more tender?
I think you could use any kind of meat. I usually use sirloin because I can get it at a decent price and it isn't too tough. But I would think anything would work, as long as it's marinated long enough to help it become tender.
Thank you, I will be trying this!
Looking Beautiful and sooo" Yummy !! Can't Wait to try this for my Husband's B'day !!
Does it Work well for Cubed Chicken breasts ???
You know, I've never made kabobs with chicken. But I'm sure it would work just fine. You might need to adjust the cooking time a little. Maybe I'll try chicken the next time I make kabobs.
looks good thanks for sharing.
sounds fabulous! i will substitute with chicken as I dont eat beef, but im sure will be just as good!
yummy
This is perfect. The pictures and directions are great. It seems very easy and very delicious! Thank you so much Jodie! My boyfriend and I are going shopping tonight, and I'm definitely going to try this out. He loves anything on the grill. :D
I hope you enjoy it! This was my first cooking photo essay, and I'm happy with how it turned out. I might have to do more in the future.
These kabobs do look delicious!
Looks easy thanks for sharing.
You're welcome!
That looks so good!
Those look very scrumptious! And I love the bowl of berries too!
These look delicious. I am bookmarking this for a summer BBQ.
This is absolutely fabulous! I always use a bottled marinade, but I'm going to try your recipe next time, probably on the 4th of July. What I've started doing when I make kabobs is I put the meat alone on skewers and put them on the grill first, and then the vegetables on their own skewers so they don't burn. It isn't quite as pretty, but things are cooked more to my liking. And, as you mentioned, the kids don't have to pass off all their vegetables! :o)
That's a good idea! I like to brush some of the marinade on the veggies, too.
Those look great! Ecellent photo essay, Jodie.
sounds like a great marinade, I'm going to try it this weekend
Love the marinade for the kabobos
I want to come to your cook-outs!
