Tomorrow I'm going to my parents' house to cook my dad's favorite meal, kabobs. I have a great marinade recipe, and I already cut the meat (top sirloin) into chunks and have it soaking in the marinade. My mom will pick up veggies and we'll put them together tomorrow. Then I'll grill them until the meat is medium-rare. I'm hoping I'll take some pics and do a photo essay, but no guarantees.
Here's the recipe for the marinade:
1 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup mustard
1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
4-5 cloves garlic, minced (I use a garlic press)
1 tsp. meat tenderizer

YUM - O!
Sounds good. Thanks for posting to http://thecookscorner.gather.com/
Sounds like an awesome marinade!
What a neat idea for Father's Day. Please post it to our Fathers Day 2009 group.
Too far a ride for me :(. It all sounds great but I have reading where you are trying to eat healthier so I would recommend skipping the meat tenderizer. Just a suggestion as they are some of the worst products out there. The rest of the marinade should do the trick just fine and when cooking beef if you cook it from room temperature that makes a big difference too.
BTW is that a dijon mustard you are using?
You're right. I'd never looked at the nutrition info on the tenderizer, but holy cow, that's a lot of sodium! I'll try it without next time.
No, it's just plain old mustard. Dijon might be good though.
This sounds wonderful. I do hope you're going to take some pix of the finished product to show us!
Hmm yummy, please bring the pictures. I always love my kabobs with fruits too, it's beautiful and yummy
