my mardi gras tree

general consensus in the apartment was that we all liked having the tree up, so we are just redecorating for the various holidays.

This is my Mardi Gras tree.

remember the tree itself is black with white lights.

in the tree we have sunglasses and jesters and dancers and rainbows and fans and skeletons and vampire fangs and some of my gather friend puppets.  i need to make more of those.  and the green, purple and gold beads are a must.  i caught those at one of the many mardi gras parades i've attended over the years in pensacola.  enjoy.

Fabulous. We used to leave a tree up all year where I work, and re-decorate it for each holiday. Got to be too much trouble so we don't do it any longer.

thanks. it actually was easier to just redecorate it than try to figure out where to store it for the year.
Oh, bloody hell -- the humanity! What happened to my legs in that first picture, and am I eligible for any free money because of it?!

see joy, we hang out every day and night and you are subjected to the weirdness that is my home without even knowing it.

i enjoy the long talks we have when everyone has gone out to have fun and i'm just laying there with rita, so i'm not just that crazy girl who only talks to the cats.

ina, i have so many. i was in a few parades just to get rid of the abundance of them i had by throwing them back at other people. i thought i got rid of them all and then when i moved, i found a bag in my garage and a bag in my car.

What a cool tree. I wanted to do a Mardi Gras tree this year, but I'm moving this weekend, so the tree had to go. Maybe next year. Your's looks great!

You're like some friends of mine. The husband's Catholic and the wife's Greek Orthodox, so the tree is up for both Christmases. And Margo being Margo, the tree just kinda stays up after Greek Christmas. When the kids were still actually kids, they'd put hearts on it for Valentines day, Easter bunnies and egg "ornaments" for Easter, and all that. I guess Mardi Gras is as good an excuse as any to decorate a Christmas tree still up long after Christmas.

sharon, mason had the "gather gang" in among his keyboards but they kept falling over so i figured they could hang out in the tree for more safety.
