I love the Register Rewards (RR) program at Walgreens! If you play it right, you can get LOTS of free stuff or near-free stuff!
Katie, my coupon buddy, and I went shopping yesterday and stopped at two different Walgreens. The first one was pretty wiped out! (Lots of couponers in our area!). I was able to get one of the Colgate Sensitive toothpastes though. It was priced $4.49 and I had a $1 coupon. I paid $3.80 and got a RR for $4.50... so I profited $.70!
I also ended up buying three more tubes throughout the day. For those I only had a $.75 coupon so the profit was $.45 each.
My "next best" deal of the day was Speed Stick. Wondering through the store, Katie and I found a 2/$2 Speed Stick display. I had a $1 coupon, a $1.50 coupon, and 4 $.75 coupons. So I bought 6 deodorants. In the end... I paid $.50 plus tax!
After that, I bought Listerine Total Care and Listerine CoolAgent. These were on sale 2/$9. I used a $2 coupon and a $1 coupon. I received a $4.50 RR. So, after all was said and done, these cost me $1.50 for the two of them.
I also took advantage of the Swiffer deal. Refills (liquid and pads) were priced at $4/each. I bought 3 liquids and 2 wet sweeper refills. I added 2 boxes of Mr Clean erasers to make it to the minimum required for the $6/$25 deal. I used a $.50 coupon on one of the refills and a BOGO coupon on the erasers ($2.50). I received a $6 RR. This also qualifes for the mail in rebate at swiffer.com! So I'll receive a $10 debit card also! In total, the 5 refills and 2 boxes of erasers cost $6 plus tax.
All in all... it was a great shopping day! I rolled most of the RRs yesterday, but I still have the $6 RR for my next Walgreens trip!

Have you tried asking for a raincheck on the sale items when they aren't in stock?
