One year when I was maybe 7 or 8, I woke up on Easter morning to bunny prints all over the living room. They lead in all sorts of directions, and upon further inspection, were made from baby powder. That was the year I questioned whether or not the Easter Bunny was real. I had found one of those plastic nets that plastic eggs used to come in when I was in my parents room a few days before Easter that year.
I was just certain there was no Easter Bunny, but those footprints made me believe again.
Several years ago, I think Raegan was 4 or 5, and Chris was 2 or 3, I found a kit at the local dollar store at Christmas. It came with a footprint cutout in cardboard, and a can of pine scented powder, so you could make Santa's Footprints on the floor.
Basically, it was just carpet powder, but it was a cute idea, and brought back memories, so I grabbed it. On Christmas morning, Raegan thought it was so cool. She was just lit up after seeing it.
I've never seen a kit like that again, but I think I'm going to make myself one this year. I'll cut the shape of a footprint out of cardboard, and just pick up some pine scented or regular powder to use for the footprints. I think I might do some smaller prints to, for elves.
I think Gilly will love it!
