I think people are going over board with the new rules.  I put up one article and it was flagged.  I have just givin up on posting anything but pictures.

They were hitting people's recipes the other day also.  I don't understand what they think they are going to accomplish by taking legitimate posts, flagging them and driving Gather crazy having to check them all.  I don't understand what's going on here, and I certainly don't like it.

I got hit the other day with the rating troll! 1 point! I didnt think it was that bad but  what are you going to do? I distinctly remember them saying you could post jokes and thats what you usually do. I would ask gather if it was them or a reader so you will know whether or not to post that again.

I think Gather is no longer a fun place to be......people are sometimes just mean! Sorry your stuff got flagged.

I just went and viewed all your posts from yesterday.......don't have a clue why they would flag the things they did....it had to be done just because they could!  Such childishness!

Actually, Tom said they SHOULD flag copy pasted posts.  Dave, if you haven't read about the points upgrade, you should - it's a viciously long thread but a lot is discussed in the comments we all should be aware of, a lot of it focused on members whose posts are primarily copied from elsewhere.

That said, I don't support flagging of everything in sight if one isn't sure it's pasted content.  I believe staff has said they will be trying to clarify and educate members on this matter soon, so if you're being flagged wrongly, hang in there.

Lune I had 1 copy and paste from email a joke and I read into that long post that it is ok.    ALL the others were originals.

it's okay if you explain why you wanted to share it and give insite into the joke.  it's not okay just to copy and paste the joke.  that was what gather explained over and over.

now you other posts may not have been clear that they were original.  think of your articles as a sandwich.  if you hand someone two slices of bread and call it a sandwich, doesn't make it one.  it's the stuff you put in between the bread that makes it interesting.

so the more of yourself you put into your posts, the more original and less likely to get flagged your stuff will be.

I saw your lunch post, i have no clue what else was posted, I will go and check it out and leave you another comment, if i can figure it out...

i went and looked too, have not a clue why... maybe ask gather who flagged them and why

I hope your posts get better results today.

I asked Kevin about all this flagging and he answered in his help page yesterday.

He said there is confussion whats allowed, but jokes and recipes are suppose to be ok, but since Tom said to flag un-original content without specifying what, theres been mass confussion whats allowed.  That doesn't explain the daily life posts being flagged.

I guess some people don't have anything better to do, than cause problems for others

Insanity!!!  Don't let it get you down, things will clam down here in a week or so.

I think what it was is that someone appointed themselves as Gather police officers and thought that your posts weren't fitting into the guidelines.  That is weird because you didn't do anything wrong.  I mean, what could be wrong about writing about your day?  It's not against the rules.

Well, I only come here now to read post and look at pictures.  I do comment on all pictures.  Since I hardly post anything on gather, I only get 1 point every other day.  I don't care anymore.  I am just here to relax these days.

I've looked over some of your posts and I don't see a clear reason for them to have been reported (flagged). Like in any community, occasionally there are random acts of malicious behavior that lead to flagging, low rating, etc. This may be the cause of the recent problem you're experiencing. Hopefully Gather resolves the matter soon for you!

I saw one of yours that was and did not understand it at all. I think I even commented why was this flagged? made no sense.

That's why we need to be rid of this flagging option.  Someone who objects to a post can tell you so or just keep it to themselves and delete it from their e-mail!

They were jealous! :) Who knows... people can always find a reason to not like someone and may show it in the most ridiculous ways.

Hmm...sounds like I need to post a flag post.....sorry this is happening to you, there is no reason why a few of your posts were flag. I rather a troll hits then this silliness.

Even this post got flagged. Wow. I really enjoy the jokes you post and that could be this issue with some people. It seems that many people don't understand the changes in the way gather gives out points and believes that anything that was copied from somewhere else is forbidden. Gather just stated that you would not get points and I think they would be referring more to those who post 50 copy & pastes in a row.

Gather should reduce points for those who maliciously flag post such as this one.

Too bad all of your stuff got flagged.  What a drag!  I hope they take the flags down soon too and don't penalize you your points.

I don't know why this one would be flagged either? Sheesh what is wrong with people.  I am really suprised Gather hasn't removed some of these ridiculous flags yet!
