I'm sure it won't last, and it's certainly not quiet, but the kids are upstairs for the evening. I broke out the new Air Popper I got for Christmas, and we made good air popped popcorn. I had some spray butter for it, light actually, so a wee-bit healthier. I also had some ranch popcorn topping, and parmesan garlic popcorn topping that I added for a bit of flavor.
We sent them up with Gilly's new copy of The Golden Compass to have a movie night upstairs. Usually we have them down here, but after 2 weeks of no school, they're driving me NUTS. I had to send them upstairs. It's for their own good. ;)
Monday welcomes them to their first day of school back, so I think it'll be bed time as soon as the movie is done. Tomorrow and Sunday will be early bed times as well.
Nick is off until he has to be back to work on Wed, so that's also nice. We're planning to be lazy on Monday and Tuesday and watch a few of the movies and TV seasons we got for Christmas for each other. We got some great deals, and started buying early, so we each wound up with quite a few.
For TV Seasons, I bought Nick House, season 3. He got seasons 1 & 2 last year. He bought me seasons 1 & 2 of Supernatural, season 1 of the Tudors, and season 1 of Angel. Aside from Tudors, none of them were over $15 a season.
Then last weekend, I bought season 1 of Bones at Target with a gather gift card. I tried to get season 3 this week, as it's on sale, but wound up with a rain check. That will also be purchased using a gather gift card. Then, I just need to wait for season 2 to go on sale, and I'll have all 3! Season 1 is only $20 regular price, but 2 & 3 were each $45!!
I love rewatching TV shows at night while I'm in bed, but I can't justify that price. The other one I would like to get eventually is American Dreams. I really wish they would put season 2 out on DVD, but they never have. Season 1 used to be ridiculously expensive, like $80. I found it at Columbia House for only $16, but I'm waiting until I have extra money for that one.
Tonight we're just relaxing. Nick is reformating the kids computer. A few days ago, it didn't want to start. Nick got it working, barely, but it was really slow. He spent last night cleaning up the hard drive. I spent today removing programs I had on there from when it was mine that the kids don't use. They had less than 20 MB's of space on it before I started (from a 120 GB hard drive!!). I was only able to clear out 6 and a half gig's, but better than nothing.
Well, then I took the cover off the case and cleared the dust out. I've done it before, several times. The fans in it don't work well enough. We've replaced the main fan once, but it still gets clogged with dust after a while. Anyway, I cleaned it out, and set it back up without plugging everything back in.
Nick got home and went to do that, and the cpu was not starting, not booting anything, it was making horrid sounds, etc. We finally got it to start, but it's now giving a disc error, so we're reinstalling windows XP on it.
Well, I suppose that'll clear up the space issues, huh? ;)

Thanks for reminding me, I gotta work on the kid's computer soon too... Fun fun...
Now, I plan to keep mine. Last February, Nick got me all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls, which is one of my favorite series, and we've gotten our money's worth. Between my oldest daughter and myself, we've gone through the entire series 4 or 5 times now.
I remember the days of kids home for Christmas break. I usually had about 5 neighbor kids in addition to my own three. Those kids could really down the cookies and milk. LOL
I know you probably don't want to hear it right now, but I kind of miss it .
So you got the screen of death on the kid's PC? I hate when that happens!
