~After Christmas Sales~

Well we made it to Christmas!

How many are planning to hit the "after" sales?

I am thinking about asking Hubby if he wants to go eat breakfast tomorrow morning at our favorite local cafe. Then he can come home while I go see what bargains I can find. I usually but wrapping paper, tags, bows, cards at 1/2 price the day after Christmas. And sometimes I can get Holiday placemats, towel/potholder sets etc to pack away as gifts next year.

And the local Hallmark store always has their ornaments 1/2 off too. They even make great B-Day gifts! Usually pretty picked over by now, but they are a tad high at reg price.

We have a nice downtown area, just might roam around in and out of stores, I have not done that in ages!

And the weather sounds awesome, finally going to get into the 40's and melt this snow and ice!

Nick has to work, so I'm not sure if I will or not. I have a $70 Walmart card, and $50 in cards to Target. If I go anywhere, though, it'll likely just be Walmart, because it's here in town. I want to get a big Christmas tree for next year. Something 7 foot or taller, in green. I have a 6 1/2 foot white tree this year (which I love), but next year, I want to put two trees up, maybe.

Heather, be careful of the bigger trees...the taller they are, the wider they are at the bottom.

Enjoy your day! I'm not sure if I'll be going out or not. It depends on when the mechanic finishes my car. We have to drop it off today so they can work it in first thing in the morning.

Probably get out just to enjoy the weather. But it may be tooooo nice to waste being in a store? PRICELESS! After Christmas is no big rush, the sales usually stretch out for 2 weeks, not just a 1 day thing. Why do people need to return/exchange things so darn quick? Could WALK (ha) the few blocks down to the Outlet Mall and see what the 120 stores are eager to get rid of.

I need badly a new computer and printer/scanner. I hope I didn't miss the best prices before Christmas because, when I wasn't working, the snow was piled so high in my street, I was afraid to go out.

I have to see if I can still find a good deal.

I'm planning on hitting the after christmas sales at the outlets in washington DC in the coming weeks. :) they should be having some good ones!

We will definitely be out shopping, like crazy people. lol I always buy wrapping paper and bows when they are half price, too. I finished up three rolls of wrapping paper this year, and have two more that are almost empty, so I definitely need to get some now.

We also usually are able to find a few clearance toys that Elliott wants for his birthday (February 1). We didn't spend any of the checks or giftcards he got for Christmas on presents yet, so we're thinking about spending the giftcards on birthday presents (we took presents from our birthday stashed, and signed them from the people who sent money and giftcards), and half the cash on presents as well (at least half will definitely go into his savings).

I don't go to the after Christmas sales. I enjoy buying gifts for family and friends, and if I shopped for myself after Christmas, it would blow my limited income. Also,I don't like dealing with the large crowds. Other times of year I like to hit the sales, though!
