I had a wonderful opportunity to attend the Boston Ballet's Nutcracker last week with my daughter Katie. The last time she and I went to this fabulous Boston Christmas tradition was when she was in 2nd grade and I took her with my mother as a special treat. This time, my 21 year old daughter took me as a treat. Katie is a marketing intern for the Boston Ballet and in exchange for a lot of work from her, she receives a couple free tickets to each show. So far, I've been the lucky recipient to both shows this season! I'm hoping my luck holds out through spring!

The dancers were fabulous! The stage sets and costumes were absolutely incredible. I forgot what a wonderful show this is for children. Many of the dancers in the first act are children - from mice, to party goers, to dancers from around the world. I was ohhing and ahhhing as much as the smiling young children filling much of the audience.

Arriving at the Boston Opera House for the show.
I could not take pictures of the performance, but I did take some of the beautifully restored Boston Opera House where it was held. It runs through Dec. 28th and if you are in the Boston area, you can still get tickets to some of the performances. I highly recommend it!

Waiting for the curtain to rise.

Looking across the theater before the performance.

Heading home after a fun night! I don't want to wait another 15 years before I do this again!

I love the Nutcracker, but I've only seen it once.
