In the little village of Lancaster, NY they decorate the main street area like an old fashioned christmas that reminds me of the town in "Its a Wonderful Life". The store fronts are decorated with animated figurines that were displayed in the 1950's to 1970's in stores in downtown Buffalo. They were purchased and restored and now hold a place in the village storefronts. They hold a tree and village lighting ceremony which was last weekend and drew in 3,000 people. Santa was there and there was hot chocolate and fun for all. Every night from Thursday to Sunday nights there is a light show with piped in music throughout the village. Last nite I was going by and just happened to have my camera with me. We stopped and it was truly magical, I took lots of pictures down one side street and then my camera batteries died. A link is here for you to take a look at the professional pictures.

I will definitely be going back there, especially for the light show! It's like being a child again. Just magical.
