The 44 Days - 4400 Pics Challenge

Summer Is Over ... well Except For Indian Summer

Except for the lingering teasing and taunting of periodic warm days of Indian Summer, summer is over ... it's been over a month since the autumnal equinox signaled the end of summer and beginning of fall. Summer is over! And with its demise, it is time to close out my "summerpics"! The new Gather photo albums are far too clumsy a process to get them into an album so I am going to delete them all.

I had already begun the deleting process, BUT! there are still Four-Thousand Four-Hundred of the Seven-PLUS-Thousand "summerpics" left for your enjoyment! That's right! 4400 of my summerpics left for viewing! But they won't be there for long!!! Can you view them all in just 44 day??? I will begin anew the deletion process on December 16th in FIFO order (first in - first out) so you might want to start with the oldest first -- SO START HERE  -- and click the "prev" link to work your way through them in the order they were published. If you prefer to do things backwards, you can begin your journey HERE  and click the "next" link to continue backing your way up through the photos in reverse.

To make this all a little more interesting ... the first person to view all remaining 4400 of my summerpics within 44 days will receive a token of my appreciation ... I have a 4gb SD memory card waiting with your name on it! In the unlikely event there is a tie, there will be a drawing of names for the memory card. If by chance no one completes the 4400 pics in 44 days challenge, the 4gb memory card will be awarded to the person with the most verified views of my summerpics.

Along the way, and in addition to the big memory card, there will be other assorted trinkets handed out to participants in the 4400 Pics in 44 Days Challenge. I don't know exactly what goodies it will be at this moment since I am in Colorado for the next three weeks and can't inventory the goody basket of trinkets ... but I know I have some goodies like some miscellaneous GCs, more memory cards, and other assorted trinkets that I can send out when I get back to Tahoe.

Oh! you're wondering how will I know who logged the most mileage through my summerpics??? Easy, you leave a comment on each summerpic you view and I will total up all your comments. The most comments during the 44 days wins!!! Comments on my other photos are greatly appreciated, but only comments on my pics tagged summerpics will count and only one (1) comment per summerpic will counted per member. Leaving a comment is the only verifiable way to let me know you viewed a photo. So leave your mark! Say "Hi!", say "nice shot", say "bad shot", say "Kilroy was Here", just say something, pretend you're John Cusack and "Just Say Anything"!!! By the way ... rating my summerpics is completely optional and has no bearing on the 44 by 4400 challenge, so have your way with them - rate 'em up, or rate 'em down - it don't matter 'cause they are all going away when the challenge is over.

So limber up your clicker finger and comment quips, and have a go at my end of summerpics before they're all gone!

P.S. If any Gather up-grades[sic] - past, present or future - or other Gather system problems/failures should cause excessive issues with viewing images, posting comments, login accessibility, etc for me as host of the challenge or a significant portion of Gather members in general, this little adventure will be null and void.

P.S.s. No commenty - No credit! Just like at the cleaners - No ticky No laundry! Comments will be logged by Gather notices sent to my gmail account. Only those notices will be sorted and counted, and no allowances will be made for any comments posted to my summerpics that Gather does not deliver a notice. All notices received beginning with when I publish this article and then up to 11:59 PM EST on December 15th 2008 will count towards the challenge.
