Temporal Sanctum Premise:
As you already know it took some fancy weaving by a Master Fate to save the people an already unstable universe. What? You don't know that? Oh! Well, umm let me start over, I'll skim over the history lesson just to get you caught up to where we are now but if you want the full story you can check it out HERE.
The important stuff will be a little more in depth. I'll try to make it interesting; okay here goes:
PART ONE: In another dimension, two worlds with two very different cultures were going about their business completely unaware of the other's existence, but all that was about to change! The primal scream of a god ripped a hole in the fabric of time and space, and the worlds were sucked into the rift.
Past and future, technology and magic began to merge, at first each side blamed the other for their troubles. When a highly advanced civilasation based on technology mets a magical world that defied logical explanation, there was bound to be problems.
Unable to communicate war erupted in an already unstable piece of the universe, over time the worlds merged creating a small section of stable ground. It became a kind of neutral ground for each side to negotiate for peace and to get to know each other. An uneasy truce was formed, although neither world fully trusted the other.
Since a god created the problem, a master fate (Jonathan) was called in to keep an eye on things. What he didn't know was that the Fates (the mythological sisters) were messing around with people's lives, until they messed with the wrong person, and ended up getting one of them killed. Well as their tapestry began to unravel, Jonathan stepped in. He couldn't save the two worlds the way they were so he created a new destiny for them. Which brings us to the current events.
Sort of...
PART TWO:
Jonathan created a sanctuary that existed outside of time and moved the survivors of the two worlds into an unpopulated section of another world. Where the refugees have been hidden from public view, and life was relatively good for the refugees. They were able to bring some things from their worlds and what they couldn't bring with them they could build as there was plenty of natural resources to be found.
All good things must come to an end however because over time thier population grew and more and more demands were made on the land. To complicate matters further explorers and native people began arriving they started settling the land using the natural resources as well. Now our refugees had to venture into the outside world and were being seen all over the world, as they were able to teleport anywhere to get the supplies they needed.
Werewolves, vampires, mermaids, gods and goddesses and aliens everyone had their own ideas to account for the random sightings of the refugees. Stories developed out of superstitious minds becoming legends for scary movies and romantic tales.
While time stood still inside the Enclave, outside technology and time marched forward. People turned away from the fanciful explanations for the legendary creatures, and instead began to look for more scientific answers. Science was also beginning to look at a strange anomaly outside of New York.
With resources dwidling and threatening their lives inside the Enclave they wouldn't be able to hide much longer. Something had to be done, so the leaders called a meeting and it was decided that they would have to reveal themselves. The vote was not unamimous however which has created tension within the Enclave.
Twenty years have passed since then, prejudice groups hold secret meetings while governments claim to support equality for all. No one is entirely trusting of the system.
Rumors flourish that there is a secret government testing facility that are trying to learn how to use The Others to "improve" human life and possibly create "super" soldiers. Jealousy and mistrust are a part of everyday life although The Others and humans often work side by side and genuine friendships are forged by the more open minded people there are those that undermine any attempts at a peaceful coexistence.
Now we're all caught up and ready to go! Do me a favor, and try to get along.
