Your legal rights

I am kind of up set that one of our gather members just got I can not even say evicted.

"To legally evict you, your landlord must file a lawsuit in court. If sued, you should receive a Petition and Summons, telling you when and where to appear in court, and what your landlord is demanding. Do not ignore the lawsuit. If you do nothing, a default judgment may be entered against you."

This in not my words go look at the website. This is why we need lawyers so we know our rights. I have been though this before and the person who put this person out on the street is really in trouble. If you read "a default judgment may be entered against you" This has to be given in court by a judge. In most cases you have to have three default judgments on you before you are evicted. The state will not just put people out on the street. So if you are renting rooms out in your house for extra income be aware of this. .

my son went though this being a landlord himself. He didn't throw them out, made sure they had a place to live seeing there was a child involved but he had to sue to try and recoup the damages to the property. He has since sold the property cause it was just too much pain. The tenant actually threatened his wife.
