Another season of wildfires hitting California hard. not even the Santa Ana's yet, the hot winds off the desert, they come in November mainly. The Station Fire, it is being called that as the rangers station was in its original path, in La Canada/Flintridge, La Crescenta, Acton, Pasadena and Alta Dena, and the important Mt. Wilson, where all the transmitting antennae reside, along with the fist observatory here in L.A., is still only about 5% contained. There is no normal marine layer coming in from the sea to blanket it down at night any, only like 10% humidity now, so it is, as the crow flies, only about 8-10 miles from me here, but there are a couple of freeways it would have to cross, so fingers crossed!
Here are some pics I just took of the smoke billowing too near for comfort!
The air is filled with dangerous particles and with the heat of about 105 for the past few days no chance of closing my windows! So I cough!

We have serious global warming and drought. Haven't had rain in years! Just a sprinkling
I hope those in it are safe
I am OK hon, even the houses you see up on the hill above me there are sitting tight
We wouldn't get rain this late in the season. Doesn't usually rain here till december, we still have the Santa Ana winds to get through in November!
It's grown so rapidly over the last couple of days. Have watched it go from a few thousand acres to over a 100, 000 last I checked.
Another bit of cheery news, the hurricane in Baja could cause dry lightning and cause more fires!
stay safe~
hugs
I have been hearing from all the people, all over the world, who contact me during fires and after earthquakes.
Shake and bake out here!
Why live here? Well, why do people live in the mississippi Delta when if floods year after year, and N.O, Florida, all the hurricane places, people live in places that have these natural disasters every year. most of the brush burning has not burned since 1923!
