About 6 or 7 weeks ago a tornado went over my place and touched down about 5 miles away. It hit a small farm and took off the front porch which they fixed right away. They had just finished building a big machine shed and it ended up spread over several acres. I went past it the other day and they have most of it cleaned up except a little still hanging in the trees. They have started rebuilding on the same foundation. I spoke to the lady and she said their insurance had just kicked in on the new building so they were covered. Talk about luck!!

Some of the building material still in the trees.

There was a huge pile of trash behind the trucks where they had gathered up all the pieces.

If our rain lets up, they will probably have it finished again in a couple of weeks.
Just thankfull it wasn't my shed. Mine's so full of stuff we never would have found it all. Lol.

Glad no one got hurt
The important thing is no one was hurt and the insurance was timed just right. Tornadoes can certainly be very destructive.
They were very lucky. It cost a lot for a building that size.
Luckily no one got injured!
Very lucky Shirley. Her husband was on the road driving his semi and she had taken the kids to visit a relative.
thanks for sharing
Wow... glad their insurance covered the damage!
take care of you!
Living in an area that gets hit by tornadoes makes me very nervous when the siren goes off!
Trouble is I don't hear sirens Kevin. I live 4 miles from my little town and just have to listen to the radio and watch the sky.
Wow!! Glad that no one got hurt or killed.
WOWWWY I hate this time of the year only for that reason. Good thing nobody was injured !!
I'm glad that this was not worse that it was.
Me too Kat. I watched it go overhead. That's the only place it hit until it got to Indiana.
It could have been so much worse! At least with a hurricane we have a couple of days to get out of the way, with tornadoes you only have minutes if your lucky.
Fortunate that no one was hurt
I'm glad they were gone Kay cause they didn't have a basement.
That was luck. I'm thankful that it skipped you!
I lived in kansas for years and hated it when the sky grew dark and the storms started up. I spent lots of days nd nights in the basement and never lived in a place that didn't have a basement to run to. I'm happy not to live there anymore. I'm glad you were missed.
What a monster these storms can be ! Good captures.
It's good that the insurance will cover it.
Living in that area must be challenging.
Father doesn’t know
What a frightening experience.. glad no one was hurt .. And thanks for sharing .
Oh my...I guess I am mighty thankful I don't live in tornado country.
I would be so scared to live where you live. I can deal with the thought of a hurricane coming by, but if we have a tornado alert I freak out (on the inside). The unpredicatability is what really gets to me.
Yeah, tornadoes can be, and oftentimes are, very destructive! Thank goodness nobody was hurt, and the insurance did cover the damage.......this is definitely tornado season!!! We don't have a basement so if there are tornado warning sirens, we have to go into our small bathroom!
I'm glad nobody was hurt and that they had good insurance. We've had nothing as far as tornado weather in my area. But the small town I live in has been hit 2 or 3 times in the past 12 years that I can remember. And the town I work in has been hit twice, one was very serious.
Nora- I don't have a basement either. And I'm on the 2nd floor. I would be going to the neighbors downstairs or the bar across the street.
