I was so surprised when I opened a gift from my Mom yesterday. It was a beautiful spongeware water pitcher that belonged to my great-great grandmother. I can remember it being in our house when I was young. My mom kept dried flowers in it. I never appreciated such things when I was younger but have come to love anything old. I especially like the things that have a family tie! I had forgotten about it, so I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the box! Did you get any surprises this year?

Wonderful gift
Hope you had a nice Holiday
My gifts were wonderful, but I especially loved one that I gave to a daughter--a stained glass piece that I made for my father years ago, one that I knew she coveted because of the connection to her grandfather who passed away 7 years ago. I signed the gift tag, "from Grampa", and we both teared up when she opened it.
