Ishbel, that is how you rack up the points, a larger contact list means lots more views of your posts!

Frankly I don't see any reason why I should.

BTW, the size of your contact list doesn't really influence your point total as much as you might think. Obviously someone with 10 contacts isn't going to get as many page views as someone with 300, but I think you get to diminishing returns somewhere over 50.

...And she has exquisite taste! Just sayin'. I have some of these and not others. I know who they are and I choose my contacts very carefully.... :P

Sheryl - no, not really! Overseas members are unable to be apply to convert points to gift cards - this makes us less equal!

Netty - Gather has been saying (for longer than I've been a member) that they are 'looking into' ensuring that ALL members are accorded the same rights and privileges. So far, it's amounted to nothing... and I'm certainly not holding my breath for it to change any time soon!

Netty, a lot depends on how you gather.

I have only two on my list.
Kevin - although he is not part of the gather team, but boy is he ever the best person to help you here on gather. They don't call him the wizard for nothing.:)
Besides he is genuinly nice and helpful guy.
He does a killer daily help and info calendar - so you always know what's happening. I suggest you sign up for both groups.

Stefanie, since she runs most of the contests, sweepstakes and promotions here on gather. Join her gather giveaway group for instance, there's something new going on every week, for points, prizes and giftcards.

Connie,is one of my favorite people here on gather - http://villageanne.gather.com/
She does a simpler version of What's Happening Today on Gather. Connect to her as a friend or just look for her daily post on the home page.
Connie is also one of my favorites and not part of the gather team.

Tom, the owner and founder and the gather staff members Mary Anne and Pam will show up with posts on the home page if it is something you should know about - and everyone is easy to find if I should have the desire to contact them.
I contacted Pam for help once and got my answer within two days.

So a good way to have your pulse on what's happening is to visit the home page daily as you sign in, you will find both Kevin and Connie there and the gather team postings if something new is happening.

Just my two cents.

Oh and as far as the number of connections - to each their own. You will find that you will make changes, simply because you change how you gather. life gets in the way or people leave gather.
