Is anyone else having problems with their lap tops when it comes to posting photos on Gather. I was able to install the Active X on my dreadfully slow hardly used desk top, but when I went to install it on my lap top I did not get the yellow Active X bar, so I have been ubable to install it.
Unfortunately most of my pictures are stored on this lap top. I have been putting pictures on this lap top to put on Gather and I have built up quite a bunch of them so I am pretty upset about this.
I need to figure out how to install the active X manually without that yellow bar, or I need to figure out how transfer my pictures to my old desktop, which I hate using because it is in the basement, and really slow. The last couple of pictures I posted are old pictures stored on my old computer.
Is anyone else having the same problem using a lap top to install the Active X?
Does anyone have any advice for me? I did send an email to Gather Support.
I appreciate your time, and thank you.

I haven't uploaded any pics yet, and don't have a laptop, lol.
Hope you can figure it out
What browser are you using (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc) and which version?
If this is a Windows machine, have you gone to Microsoft update looking for both Critical and Optional updates?
Which version of Java are you using?
Which "add-ins" and/or "Plug-ins" are you using in your browser?
Are you using a firewall other than the Windows built-in (Zone Alarm, McAfee, etc)? This could also be stopping an install.
If you have done updates and know everything you are using, have you tried resetting the browser to its "default", close/re-open and tried again?
You can post answers here -- or have these available for Gather Tech Support if you write to them, as they will need the info as well.
Once it's installed, you're all set! The plug-in will be there each time you want to share in the future, unless you use a different computer or browser, or upgrade your browser.
Guess you should have installed it on the laptop first! I would email gather help again. Let us know if/where you find another Active X, and how it works.
The article does help explain using the new album feature.
