My refuge

My Refuge

You are my Lord and refuge,

the one I know I can call.

You are ever beside me

to catch me when I fall.

Lord please look down today

For I am already sprawled

My heart has failed its function

And all I can do is bawl

Why did you even give me

A heart filled with such love

Why must I always feel

Like a lonesome dove?

I know you don't forsake me

You promised me for free

Yet I feel a part is still missing

To complete all I can be.

If I were meant to be alone

Wandering through life's shores

Why do I have so much love to give

When nobody wants my stores?

Have I done some evil,

a darkness you cannot forgive?

I never asked to be alone

it is a way I cannot live.

Please Lord, reach down and find me

And help me back to my feet

I need you now and always

In you my life must be complete.
