I am soo busted!:) I told you all at the end of my previous post that I would pop in an exercise CD while I was still feeling motivated. Well, I did!
I said busted, because I literally found five, yes 5 CDs covered in dust - should have took a pic of the dust balls:) Everyone one of them still wrapped in plastic too. So Mariana I want you to know that your 'Shedding Light' group has ignited a spark within me.
Better yet, the first one I popped in was the perfect choice, none of those 18 year old barbie dolls dressed in fashionista training gear, bouncing energetically off the walls. Called 'Daily Exercise Routine with Nancy Marmorat' it is a program designed to improve fitness, cardiovascular health, and shape and tone your body.

Drum roll please - I made it through the warm up plus my first 15 minute exercise routine in ten years. Like my son says - I'm so stoked:)
This CD has a warm up segment followed by a fifteen minute exercise routine, one for every day of the week from Monday to Sunday.
Of course my movements weren't perfect, I was breathing heavy and I could feel muscles I forgot I had. Nancy M. ends each segment with: "See you tomorrow" and I felt like answering I'll be there:)
Wow - what a positive experience.

I do not recommend burning oneself out - we're on a 30 minute a day plan. What you do is your business, of course and I'm sure many are working with tapes and whatever but in here I only recommend 30 minutes a day. I do not recommend more than that for starting up. We are working on a ten pound weight loss but it's so much more than that - we're working on discipline as well.
Since you have started late, you may be unaware that I only want posts related to the Steps - this makes it easy for everyone to comment on all the steps. This way everyone can comment. That is why I do not want daily upgrades, recipes or product recommendations, it makes it hard to weed through. Thanks and if you have not completed all the steps, take the time to finish them by today.

I'm sticking with this 15 minute one and as I get more fit, I will add others to the mix, which will probably end up being 30 minutes plus I will add in daily walks. It's been a long time since I exercised so I will most certainly take it slow and easy.
I'm just so happy, because for whatever reason, exercising had become a stumbling block for me. But now that I've done it again, I know I can do it and that means I have a real chance at losing ten pounds by Mar 21, 2009.
You're right Mariana - I didn't see a post about all the steps, only several posts from group members. I was just trying to devise a good working plan for myself and wanted to share my find, because it turned out to be a great CD. I'll go looking for the steps.
I am glad you're starting slow Rose plus I don't want to see you overdo it. I have always been active but I had a foot injury and naturally if you don't walk for a week, then it gets harder to start back up. No excuses, I am also a woman who loves wine - and you now wine and cheese are a great match - ok no wine for this diva for 12 days now - I still eat frozen grapes though....
Thank you for being part of our group Rose H. I am glad you posed this as it shows me where you are and gave me a chance to say slow down. We hope we all lose the ten pounds but if we don't we've still learned many things about ourselves and how many others are just like us! It will inspire each of us to begin to appreciate our inner beauty, our inner strengths and with that knowledge pass on the light to others!
I am not sure if some of the steps are clear - I know you have basically done two of them and it would be nice to put the other two together - well, lets see I think you may have covered them as we'll just consider this one your update which was step 4 - oh yea, step 5 - your inner self - see if you can find it! hugs galore, SAlud
I received a new exercise toy in the mail today. Through the Cokerewards program, I ordered the resistance bands and dvd set called Pumping Rubber. It includes 3 resistance bands, a dvd, instruction sheets and a door knob strap. I'm off tomorrow and can't wait to get started with these bands.
I knew you could do it. You are always so upbeat. I would love to have a DVD to work out too. This kind of total change is new to me and to be honest... I LOVE IT!
One of my favorite parts is the support of the other members of the group. I thought I was the only one that felt down on myself. It is nice to know I am not.

The exercise part is what has had me vexed I was afraid of it, convinced I couldn't do it, but I can. Yay and I can still swing my hips:)
ChrisJerri - me and you both, I'm not a real limber person to begin with, so I don't see myself doing this any time soon - lol:)
Sue* - I love that Richard Simmons tape, but I am not sure if we still have a VHS player. I'll be checking on that, because I wanted to start with that one and I'm disappointed that it was an old tape - never out of the package either.:)
Gloria - Nana - there are exercises for you too - go investigate and do one, I guarantee it will make you feel so much better.
