If you vote, Starbucks buys your coffee

On November 4, 2008, Starbucks will give voters a free tall brewed coffee at participating U.S. stores. This initiative kicks off with a 60-second ad during the final pre-election edition of Saturday Night Live on NBC this Saturday. (Might need an "I Voted" sticker or show their voter registration card. Check wesite above by holding down the Ctrl key and then clicking the link to get it to open in a new window)

After voting, voters must go to a Starbucks store, where they'll be given a tall (12 oz) cup of brewed coffee at no charge (limit one per customer).

I don't drink coffee but I think that this is a terrific idea. A big high five for Starbucks. and a big 10 to you Chana. I hope you are doing well. I will be in and out for a while because I am doing the Nanowrimo during November. For those who don't know I am writing a 50K word novel during this month. There are many of us from gather doing this so I wish good luck to us all.

Frankly I think this is nice of Starbucks. It's not like they have to do this. They are probably going to give away alot of coffee, thats alot of dollars for them. I think its great that they are trying to do their part. Sorry if you don't like coffee, but I don't think you should slam them for it.

Yes, they encourage their stores and employees to be involved with charities etc. Just because they are a big corporation, and I agree their coffee is kind of expensive for my budget, it does not mean we have to put down the positive gestures they make.

we have 4 starbucks in a 1/2 mile radius. technically i can hit up each one and get 3 cups after picking up an I voted sticker off the ground in front of the library which is in that same area.

that way i can have my coffee while waiting to vote, and my cup after voting, and one later when i'm just bored.

BTW- we call their "coffee" "Tar Sucks!" I like their other drinks, though. Too bad they aren't offering a hot spiced cider or a steamer. Their coffee isn't worth driving 10 miles for.
