Inconsequential Heart

The honesty of my heart and soul

Is by no means an inconsequential thing

It is the basis for my life's goal

A life partner that lets my heart sing.

 

I am as you see me, just a simple thing

But I love with a heart full of joy

And I long for a love to share these things

A man, not a hormonal little boy

 

I long for the pleasure of a simple moonlight

That shows more than just two lovers steam

But, instead, two souls learning all

of each other's thoughts sharing their hopes and dreams                        

 

I look for a day when I find him

The one who matches my heart seams

To share a life and partnership

Not just filling somebody's schemes

 

There is but one thing I ask

That is an important part of my life

That God be just as real to him

A faith to share as husband and wife.

Lisa, this poem gets right down there to the fundamentals that keep people in love and in sync. I actually could feel these thoughts physically. Because the need is so true.
