Let's Get Physical - Who Do You Think Is The World's Most Attractive Man Or Woman?

Someone told me recently that Christian Bale was one of her favorite actors. So I went in search of tantalizing pictures. I would say he is an intelligent actor, but he is also seriously hot! I know I am shocking! Well I found this website dedicated to Mr. Bale with a link to an article World's Most Beautiful Couple's and the Figures To Prove It, of course I was intrigued so I read the article (don't worry its a short article). It says the most perfect woman is Naomi Campbell. Naomi Campbell? The most perfect man is Christian Bale.

What it all means:

The physically ideal man is more than 6 ft tall, with legs the same length as his upper body. The leg-to-body ratio of 1 makes him appear more muscular, which is why the ideal BMI for men is higher than for women.

I find alot of star's attractive, and yes Mr. Bale is definetly on my list. The ones I can think of right now for men would be Christian Bale, Colin Farrell, Farley Granger, James Dean, Ryan Reynolds, Johnny Depp (except for that Willy Wonka thing, I can't even watch the trailer, it creeps me out) and Alan Ladd. In no specific order. For women Sophie Marceau, Carole Lombard, Heddy Lamarr, Veronica Lake (thanks Ann C.), Vivien Leigh, I am trying to think of more contemporary women, but... Oh Selene S. has that beautiful porcelin skin.

So who do you think is the perfect or most attractive man or woman and can you tell the rest of us why. This can be multiple choice. I really hate those pick one questions because it depends on my mood that day. So have at it Gatherers. Tell us what you think. Give us the 411 on who is luscious.

Lori, my husband looked alot like James Dean (well after he shaved off that really scraggly beard) when I met him. I was Oh My G-D!. I could not believe the transformation. I already loved him and it would have been ok if he was not that handsome, but I was not complaining, and I still don't.

This is an area that I am not normal. I have to know something about a man for me to think much beyond nice shell, and the same for a woman. I have seen some very "beautiful" people that have no appeal to me, or only appeal because of their character in a movie. I also have a thing for older men usually. (there are a few exceptions) Sean Connery is one of my all time favorites. Yes, I like a man with an accent for some reason. It is beyond that even though. Of course, William Powell was one of my favorites for his day as well, but that is before "my" time. I guess they have to come across as a person, with some depth or emotion before I really take an interest. I was always getting teased at work because I didn't pant over one of our maintenance guys. I always figured he loved himself enough for the rest of us. (that is even after an attempt to get to know him) I try not to think much about it, but guys like that rarely have ever had time to even talk to me, unless it was part of their job. I agree that Selene is beautiful. So are you, though I have never met you personally, we have talked enough that it shows. Physical does not do all that for me either way. I can admire a man who is handsome, but am turned way off if he is admiring himself. I would take a sweet teddy bear with extra stuffing or a little fur missing before I would want a beautiful lion that would just as soon kill me as deal with me.......

Lisa, I do agree with what you are saying. Beauty's only skin deep , but ugly goes clear to the bone (I think I got that right.) I like to think the actor's who give me a chill are also actor's who have some intelligence and range. They also tend to be a bit quirky. A good example of this would be Johnny Depp. In personal relationships personality affects (effects? I can never remember!) my view of a person's looks. So someone who appears beautiful when we meet, but has a negative and nasty personality becomes less attractive, possibly ugly. A person of average or below average looks who has a wonderful personality becomes beautiful. This has happened to me so I know what you are saying. There is a little known film of his called Equilibrium, since I saw it I have been a fan of Christian Bale. No I have not seen of of his movies. But from what I have seen I think he is an intelligent actor with range. I also like Connery's accent (and Brosnan's). This is just a little fluff, something talking about Bale made me think about.

My wife loves Christian Bale. He's in a movie where he runs around wearing nothing but sneakers. I've never seen it. But it makes her drool.

I too love Matthew McConaughay because he is easy on the eyes but as far as acting - naww

I love, love, love Richard Gere and have since I saw him in "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" with Diane Keaton.

My all time favorite for acting and sexiness is James Spader! I go crazy every time I see him!

As for female actors that are attractive...hmmm...I'm going to have to come back with my answer to that one as I can't think of one right this minute.

Esther, I haven't watched Looking For Mr Goodbar in a really long time. I will have to dust it off and watch it again. Yes I would add Richard Gere, very interesting person and a wonderful actor (also easy on the eyes). I bought Sahara last month because it was priced low at Wally World. I also like Matthew McConaughay. He is a tad "different". I enjoy his movies though and I agree with both you and Autumnrose, he is very attractive physically.

I certainly agree that the more interesting a person becomes, the more he/she also becomes attractive, which is why many of the actors who make me weak in the knees are not in any Top 10 Traditionally Good-looking list. Sometimes the allure is one feature or characteristic -- so if this were just a list of MY favorites it would include Hugh Laurie, for his eyes, and David McCallum because he's just so freakin' cute on NCIS, and, Vincent D'Donofrio (especially in the early years of L&O: CI) because of his startling mannerisms/personality... and for women, I hark back to the 70s/80s-era Lindsay Wagner & Stephanie Zimbalist. Colin Firth, duh, high on any list, and my main man will always be Nick Mancuso (late 80s/most of 90s).

But there's so many more....

Now I have seen a few more names of people, I have to admit, in a movie, I do like Richard Gere as well. Matthew McConaughay depends on the movie, as does Johnny Depp. Ok, I admit, I actually like him as a pirate, but my favorite is in the Finding Neverland.

Oh, and women, I have to mention my favorite William Powell costar, Myrna Loy. She was grace and beauty. I also like Carole Lombard and Vivian Leigh.

Veronica Lake was extremely gorgeous, as well as Ms Lombard...Lucille Ball was also a stunner ....not sure there are many that would compare to those three lady's. Greta Garbo might be in that catergory. Oh, Princess Grace. Another outstanding female

not sure about the men part. but as for me, I would go with Sean Connery....Or Tom Selleck

Claudia Cardinale.. Ralph Fiennes.. my fave of men.. Christian Bale.. Russell Crowe.. you bad boy! I love that bad boy.

Christian Bale is the most perfect now. Halle Berry is his consort! (in this context! He has a lovely wife!)

I adore John Barrymore. Loved Al Pacino in his glory. I love William Powell and Spencer Tracy. Also absolutely adore Walter Huston the father of John Huston!

But Christian Bale.. yes.. beauty indeed... and Halley..

oh another great one from the past.. Gina Lollabrigida and Brigitte Bardot! Simone Signoret and Rita Hayworth and Ava Gardener! Also Lana Turner.. very nice.

Richard Burton and Peter O'toole at his best.. oh my.

Julie Christie.. Warren Beatty.. oh he was cute.

Chana, if we are going to exclude my husband, who is my physical ideal even if he's not everybody's, I would have to say Antonio Banderas (especially about 10 years ago, but still hot now) and Catherine Zeta Jones.

Antonio just has beautiful eyes, gorgeous black hair, a beautiful body, and the accent doesn't hurt.

Catherine is a beautiful, poised woman.

I admit it, Banderas does make my heart flutter a bit. I have read and seen a few interviews with him and he seems like an intelligent and thoughtful man. Once when I took french they said it was the language of love. I think it's spanish. Such a beautiful language and Banderas does have a beautiful voice. Yes I also have a thing about accents Rachael.

I couldn't choose! But I have read that people with symmetrical features attract more people than those with even slightly crooked noses or off-center eyes.

Brad Pitt, James Marsden, and I cannot think of any other guys right now.

I love George Clooney and Harrison Ford. For women I would have to choose Elizabeth Taylor and Halle Berry. Elizabeth Taylor has been a beauty from the time she was a child. And Halle Berry is just gorgeous. George Clooney has the most incredible laugh and he blushes. Harrison Ford is just perfect.
