You knew I didn't love you
You knew I didn't care
You knew that I would walk away
And never would be there
You knew my heart was frozen
You knew I was so cold
You knew that when the chips were down
I'd drop my cards and fold
All these things you knew and still
You gave to me your heart
Even though you knew that I
Would tear it all apart
You knew that when you walked away
I'd fall in love with you
Thus my world comes tumbling down
Because of what you knew

What is the reason for this Lewis? or.. shall I speak to he who speaks in your poem.. it may not be you!
In fact people often think what I write is me when in reality I am observing.. but then I understand too..so I am there I suppose.
How this hits home. I am the one who walked away...
I would love to understand this better but in the end.. I will not say more... write me privately and I will speak to you if you wish. I have said too much now.
I like you Lewis!
Bright Blessings,
