A Little Birdie Told Me

Last weekend we were doing some yard work and came across this little bird's nest when hubby trimmed the forsythia bushes.

I took a few pictures of the nest, which was hard to do. I had to hold the camera above my head to try and get in to it! We continued on with our yard work, then heard some squawking. Trevor spotted this baby bird on the lawn.

He had gotten a bit close and the parents were up in the crabapple tree just squawking their heads off. He of course knew I had my camera in my pocket and called me over. He was a trusting lttle guy and didn't move until Trevor got just a few inches away from him. I took this last photo to get another angle.

We resumed our yard work and just worked around him. We saw two hummingbirds up in the crabapple tree also but I couldn't get a shot of them. The little guy was still sitting in the yard when we went in for the day.
