Moving, vacations, and other plans..

This has been a great day so far. I took the day off of work to start what will become about a 3 week vacation. This weekend isn't necessarily a laying on the beach type of vacation, but just as fun.

My best friend is moving about 20 minutes away from where she currently lives(if you're familiar with the DC area, you will know this means it's only about 3 miles, but 20 minutes on a good day). I took yesterday and today off to help her pack and move most of her stuff. Since her brother and a friend will be coming in tomorrow to move the big stuff with a trailer, we will be making sure all of the small stuff is out of their way and getting it moved to the new place.

Since my best friend could not get off the whole day today, she went to work this morning and I began packing the rest of her stuff up. She has about an hour left of work, and I'm now waiting for her to come back with more boxes. :) I steamrolled through about 35 boxes this morning and got nearly everything she owns packed.

Usually I wouldn't agree to help someone pack while they're not here as they'll never find anything again, but she's my best friend and she was in a time crunch. She has until the 9th to move out, so she's sort of down to the wire.

Despite having to move an entire household(we are both really into cooking and have what amounts to a commercial kitchen's assortment of stuff), I love that I get to hang out with her this weekend before my 2 week long trip to Florida.
