"The key question isn't "What fosters creativity?" But it is why in God's name isn't everyone creative? Where was the human potential lost? How was it crippled? I think therefore a good question might be not why do people create? But why do people not create or innovate? We have got to abandon that sense of amazement in the face of creativity, as if it were a miracle if anybody created anything."
Abraham Maslow, American psychologist
Now there are some questions to ask ourselves. This guy really had something. We will have to explore him further.
Why do people not create or innovate? Really I think we all ask that. Especially as people who find out what we do creatively or what we want to do creatively think that we are so special. We are not really. As they compliment us we think...anybody can do this, really, why don't you try. They may not be able to do the exact same thing we do the same way we do it but certainly everyone has the potential to be creative in one way or another, from woodworking to writing.
As we wonder at why more don't try, we should wonder at why we don't do it when we know we can.
Do you believe you can as much as anyone else?

My main point was going to be...I do wonder why more don't and why I am sometime resistant to it myself ;)
Sameness pays. People believe their creative and new ideas will be morphed into something the same as everything else.
You write because you have to. You just don't feel it's worth the time spent showing to anyone else, because it's not CSI, or another sequel to Lethal Weapon, or ...
Maybe if everyone turned off their TV's for a bit, things might change?
