Today I launched my second blog at Today.com. I mulled it over, thought long and hard...does the world really need another blog on writing? Well, I don't really know. There are so many great writers, books and I suppose blogs on writing, what on earth could I contribute? It is hard to explain but I went ahead and launched Writely Applied today.
I decided it isn't so much for anybody else, but it really is, as it is a string around my finger to remind me of my writing goals. Am I applying myself everyday? Can I write a poem on a one word prompt, a paragraph long story from a photo, a novel 200 pages long? Well not in one sitting on the last part.
Yes, I want to do all those things. There'll be no writer's block here. And while I'm doing them I want to encourage others as I too have been encouraged.
I think we all have something to say. We just have to know when to say it. My time just happens to be in the middle of the journey.
So in the theme of yet another blog about writing, I also launched another writer's group on Gather. You can ask yourself why not? Then won't you join me...

Oh Christine, I love your site. I have to get it in my blog roll so that I can visit it everyday.
Blog looks like fun. Have you considered using the old "Write a hundred-word sentence without using 'and'" prompt?
I first started posting very limitedly on the few domain names that I still had. I had tried the blog before and a friend kept trying to get me to put more time into it. She kept sending me links to these sites where I could write. I eventually gave in and started applying. I applied for today.com but the email acceptance and all subsequent email from them got lost somehow. Yes, the address was right.
After I forgot about that application due to too many job applications being filled out, I started at triond.com and eventually reapplied at today.com Now I have a blog there, found the old blog there (which is now written for free) and began another blog on blogspot. Now this. Although I am enjoying all of the writing, this is where the comments help keep me motivated. The comments come in so quick that you almost get instant feedback on your words. Many places, I have few if any comments. My writing is the same, or close to it. Must be the company I'm keeping here, right? Thanks for reading and commenting. It really helps!
