Elizabeth, I have seen the tape and I was moved the first time with the depth he took th topic, I am not seeing that level of compassion or commitment in Washington DC. Are those men and women of the opposition made of stone?

Johnice, I saw this on another post yesterday but felt we might cover more Gather land if it were in even more groups.

I don't know what is with most of the politicians in Washington D.C. It's as if they don't want us to have the quality of health care presented to them. Congressman-Elect John Garamendi was our Insurance Commissioner for two different terms. The second term was to clean up the mess created by another individual. Trust me when I tell you that insurance companies do not like him. I hope we don't have to wait until Januarhy 2010 for health care reform. John will work for us and not the insurance companies. He is passionate about health care reform.

Seems to me that if anyone in DC shows any emotion they are rediculed. Look at the attack on Nancy Pelosi for expressing concern over the level of protests. There does not appear to be compassion in our nations' capitol.

I believe Congress is all about themselves and hubris, I listen to them all day long and hear nothing but bickering and trying to trip up the majority with spin. I am becoming quite sick of the childishness of the whole thing!

Thanks for redressing the issue and I hope others here will see it and rethink their objections. Many are screaming deficit yet, the Health Care overhead is causing 16% of the deficit. We must reduce that percentage and increase the application and availability of good health care for all citizens.

I agree with you, Johnice. I fam even spreading this video to others. Congress and the Senate are behaving like children. I don't really know what we can do to improve their behavior.

Thank you for participating in this conversation and traveling that higher road. I am so tired of the people screaming. It's as if they have their health care insurance and don't want anyone else to have the same. The cost of health care just continues to skyrocket and the insurance lobbyists are overriding WE the citizens. Will have to see how my new Congressman stands about the lobbyists.

Oh, you have a new Senator or Rep? We only had local City council members and school committee to vote for. Boring, the same 9 folks sit there every year. Across the river in Boston Mayor Menino, who has been re-elected each time since 1993 retained office and that was nice. We, MA will hold a special election next month to fill Senator Kennedys' seat.

Ellen Tauscher left Congress to be Under Secretary of State to Secretary Hillary Clinton. We haven't had anyone in the U.S. Congress for several months. There was a special election that ended up being a primary. At any rate, Congressman-Elect John Garamendi will do well. Otherwise, I can get people in CD10 to put his feet to the fire, so to speak. LOL!

The local elections didn't have any changes so we will continue with our ongoing problems.

Good luck with the special election. Senator Kennedy is a difficult act to follow.
