I've been using" the Wii while I am in California. I decided to get some more games for it. Wii Play is a series of games - billiards, shooting, "hockey" (glorified Pong), and others. They are all designed to get the player comfortable with the remote and to enhance eye/hand coordination and reflex time. They are NOT whole body activities as the other Wii disks have. So... I guess I cannot call them "exercise".
In order to direct the cursor at the screen, I have to hold the remote at an awkward angle. It is not comfortable for long play, and I sometimes have to support my right arm with my left.
I am seeing that I am improving, so these are skills that I need to work on. I got ZERO on some of the games. Definitely have to work on those eye/hand skills and reaction time and reflex abilities.
It's geared for small children - you get a shower of confetti when you do well on some games - but I find them fun, although they're not comfortable to play.

we are getting into the wii more the hubby and I, I love mario cart racing,,,,
I want to get a Wii, but we have nowhere to put it. On top of that, we have several other gaming platforms in storage that we rarely play and this would be something to add to the collection when the novelty wore off. Maybe down the road we'll consider getting one and or have the room to set it up in.
I found out there are SO many types of games - from trivial pursuit to sports to puzzles to fitness.
I doubt, for me, that I'll get bored.
I cannot have it in NYC as I have less floor space, so it stays in California.
my kids like to bowl on the WII when they visit their cousin
i like the bowling on the sports package also. I try to improve my form when I practice it. So much easier without a heavy ball!
