Baseball park to offer 4,800-calorie burgers

Well, at least the salsa is low-cal. The West Michigan Whitecaps, a minor league baseball team, will be offering up major league cholesterol, carbohydrates and calories in an enormous hamburger being added to the menu this year at the Fifth Third Ballpark.

The 4-pound, $20 burger features five beef patties, five slices of cheese, nearly a cup of chili and liberal doses of salsa and corn chips, all on an 8-inch sesame-seed bun. That's a lot of dough!

Ugh.  That's a heart attack waiting to happen.  Who could even enjoy such a giant burger when you are sitting in the stands at a baseball game.  I guess it's more of a fun novelty than an actual meal.

Im about 6 months pregnant, and this sounds pretty good to me, but ill take the chips and salsa onthe side. and maybe bring a few more buns for some of those beef patties

Just to put this in perspective, all those calorie and vitamin counts you see on the side of food packages are based on a 2000-calorie daily intake. So one of these things is two-and-a-half days' food for one adult.

I just watched a show on TV. Where a diner makes a 4 pound burito. It looked delicious, enough to feed a family of four. Huge, like this burger

I don't think anyone really expects that they are going to eat the whole thing at one sitting. I know for me, I would split it and share it, or save parts of it for later.
