If you don't want to carve pumpkins, the younger kids would probably like painting faces on them. I'm sure even the older ones could come up with something creative! Also, there are sure to be a ton of halloween craft ideas floating around the internet too.

you can take the insides of a pumpkin in a grocery bag, and then put some little prizes in the bottom. blind fold the kids and let them put their hands in there and dig for little prizes.

i mean things like bat rings, little spiders little things like that. and i don't know if you have a $$ store where you are, but you can get a bunch of little things there. and most of the time, there are a dozen or so in each bag

if the kids are old enough bobbing for apples is always cool. If you have the time and or energy you could also set up a small funhouse.

my mom had a few good idea. these are kind of on the 'gross-out' themes, but they worked for us and should be age appropriate. one of her favs was called the 'bowl o' worms'. all you need is some noodles cooked, coat them in oil, place in a big old black 'cauldron' aka a pot, cover with a cloth that has a hole cut in center. blindfold the kids and have them put thier hand in it. gross but fun. you can also have a table set up with the witch's items on it. you can put the worms on it, make a brain out of jello, or hands (try searching currentcatalog.com for them), eyeballs, found in many choc. stores.

I don't have any ideas but there's tons of sites online for things like this. We've never held such a party before since we are out all day on Halloween.

Last year I got a cupcake recipe from here on Gather. I can't remember who posted it. But they are eyeballs! We made them at our Halloween party and everyone loved them!! AND I found a pumpkin cake recipe here too that was really cute! Lemme see if I can find them and I will post the links!
