A few months ago Chandler and Stephy told me that they wanted to be Popeye and Olive Oyl for Halloween! I thought it was the cutest idea and was SO excited to get their costumes! I started looking online and to my surprise couldn't find a single kids size costume. That got me worried because I can't sew to save my life! LOL!
With some advice from family, friends and fellow Gather members I was able to come up with their costumes and I didn't spend much money on them either!
For Stephy aka Olive Oyl...
- Black wig - $2.50 at Target
- Long Black Skirt - $2.50 on Ebay
- Lace for sleeves and collar - 99 cents at Hancock Fabrics
- Rick Rack for skirt - $1.99 at Hancock Fabrics
She already had the red shirt and boots. I glued the rick rack onto the skirt and used velcro for the lace! LOL! I might not be able to sew but I am rather creative. :)
So, I spent a total of $8 getting her costume ready for Halloween!!!

You can check out POPEYE aka CHANDLER too!

Heather, kisses for everyone! :)
Another thing that makes costumes easy are safety pins. Gilly's whole jacket is held together with them for this year, because it's too big, but I didn't want to try cutting it and accidently ruining it. ;) Today we had an office Halloween party today at hubby's office, and I went as a devil- I spent $.29 on the horns at Goodwill, then I wore it with a red sweater, and cut a red tail out of fleece, and it's pinned to my sweater. I love pins. ;)
Great job!
