[Paradox] Statement that seems absurd but may be absolutely true ...
Believe me, as an African American I have asked myself daily, when will it be time to simply let go of the past? I only began asking myself this very important question when these evolved, strategically modernized, smug, covertly belittling racist Americans in our society say that Indian America and African America should simply "get over it"; that "it's been long enough already".
American's like the obvious, extremely partisan, politically driven AM radio personalities that of 970 WFLA's good-old-boy morning show featuring Tedd Webb, Jack Harris, and Sharon Taylor. And let's not forget 970 WFLA's remaining programming; featuring the radio personalities Rush Limbaugh, the ass licking Limbaugh wannabe --- Schnitt, Phil Henry, and let's not forget that 'Real American', Glenn Beck to name just a few of the ravenous lot.
This all in their continuous covert commentary on racial issues of today! Issues that never seems to dim! Their commentary is that of a conditioned thought pattern put on the air to strategically seed asinine propaganda (disguised as entertainment), but believe it or not; that's only part of their objective. These evolved, strategically modernized, smug, covertly belittling racist Americans protect the world they themselves live in by doing the bidding of their hidden pimps.
Don't let these entertainers fool you!
This thought pattern --- this covert objective of theirs also is adopted, or better yet; wholeheartedly shared by many other media professionals as well as a plethora of other radio personalities. Along for the ride is also these media professionals core audiences that too wholeheartedly share in their beliefs. Their core audiences are the followers of our society that sincerely plug their tongs, everyday, from the wee hours of the morning to the dead of night, directly into the orifices of these individuals asses!
In hearing this redundant commentary, I then ask myself the question: what is a reasonable amount of time for a people or a gender to forgive, forget, or to just simply get over it Aaron? I ask myself this question off a covertly indirect recommendation from these evolved strategically modernized smug, covertly belittling racist Americans. Should it be twenty, thirty, eighty, a hundred years, etc.? First, I find myself thinking for a long while before I come to a clear and honest conclusion...
What in the hell are these people trying to tell me --- tell you for that matter? Tell me this, if I maliciously committed mass genocide, beat, molested, whipped, enslaved, or raped you and yours and twenty, thirty, eighty, or a hundred years flew by, would you shake my hand? Better yet, would you have me over for dinner? A dinner where the culinarian of your family would go all out and prepare for me a feast of Gods.
A feast possibly of first, an appetizer of Stone Crab Claws with a four-pepper sauce followed by a starter of Sweet Vadalia Onion or Potato Soup with Crunchy Potato Fritters. You would then present me with an entrée of Smoked Sea Bass with Thyme that's served on a harmonious bed of Tomato Compote. In your grandiose finally, you would then present to me a dessert of Poire Carmelisee Au Glace (Caramelized Pears with a White Wine Honey Sorbet served over a bed of warmed Chocolate Sauce). This then would follow a rousing conversation about the feast just consumed as we laugh about the "good old days".
Not no, but hell no!
You would still hate me with a great passion and would forever look upon me as the one who committed mass genocide of you and yours. As a beater and as a molester of you and yours! One who whipped you and yours on a tree, and the one who enslaved you and yours. You wouldn't lend me a glass of your piss if I was on fire and you know it too. If you did happen to invite me to that aforementioned feast for the gods, you'd just as sure as poison my portions and watch me fade into the afterlife with a smile on your face.
Yet in still, these evolved, strategically modernized, smug, covertly belittling racist Americans have the gall --- the audacity to ask this of African America. To ask this of Indian America! No; I stand corrected; this is what these evolved, strategically modernized, smug, covertly belittling racist Americans expect of African America --- expect of Indian America.
That's just the way it is!
That's the way it's always been
That's the way it will always be!
That's the American way!
Therefore, when you evolved, strategically modernized, smug, covertly belittling racist Americans attempt or boldly inform a predominant race of people to simply "get over it", that "it's been long enough already"; just remember the role you covertly continue to play. Just remember your parts in this goddamn age-old scenario.
Hear this you evolved, strategically modernized, smug, covertly belittling racist Americans out there; there is absolutely no way in hell that deviance of that caliber, past or present, could ever be "forgotten". There's absolutely no way in hell that it could ever be "gotten over". There is absolutely no way in hell that it could ever be "long enough".
That too is just the way it is!
That too is the way it's always been!
That too is the way it will always be!
That too is the American way!

Now, back to this coworker. I couldn't understand, why this woman of black color, didn't talk to me. We worked next to each other on an assembly line. I finally, just asked her--Why are you ignoring me? She came out with...how she really felt about 'white people.' She spoke about "slavery and torture." I was only 19 years old at the time--but, still understood the pain she felt. I said to her--"I can't change the 'dark ignorance,' of what the people of my color did to your history." I can only start from here and now. She looked at me and smiled--because--God allows Himself within each one of us to be revealed..in "MOMENTS OF TRUTH."
You say "MOMENTS OF TRUTH", but I say "RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS". Either way, your approach was sheer beauty.
Those "types" probably being the same kind that treated your and the Indians (excuse me, Native Americans) the injustices of so many years so few years ago ... and to this very day I might add.
But if my ancestors were anything like myself, none of that came from my stock ... so it might be good for you if you kept all of that in mind rather than paint us all with the same broad brush ... I am pretty sure that not all blacks are as bitter as yourself ... and if all of us whites thought you all were, the "war" would probably start right now ... so be glad for the relative peace ... and as for monetary reparations, "get over it" ...
Otherwise I agree with Donald above. :-)
Thank you for your comment, Sir. It's been taken into consideration and is most appreciated.
In reading your rather lengthy rant, I am reminded how we reap what we sow. I have never "committed mass genocide, beat, molested, whipped, enslaved, or raped" anyone, except perhaps figuratively (as you have) with words on the soul of humanity.
I suggest it will be "long enough" when we blind ourselves to the color of skin and see the injustices of the past as done to ALL of us living -- as a crime we must all pay for (emotionally, economically, socially, and politically) -- and believe me we all do. I urge you to read your own post through a white person's eyes. It is only from seeing both sides we come closer together.
It seems through your own words and opinions, you have become an evolved, strategically modernized, smug, overtly (which is worse? overt or covertly?) belittling African American racist. This is what "we" (I use that term as an American - not a white Amercian) reap when we sow racism. It is a two way street. Anyone can be a racist.
Rhonda
With all do respect ma'am, you sound and write like a well versed press agent which could possibly be working for the radio broadcast I used in my article as an example: 970 WFLA? Anyway; well written and well assessed.
You see, these radio personalities do what you just did; flip the switch! Trying to silence reality by essentially asking (telling) me to shut up. Calling my assessment of history a racist rant rather than an assessment from an African American that's infactuated with reading between the lines of covert racism in America. I'm sorry Ms. McCollum, but I'm not so easily swayed by the rope-a-dope. Tell you what, I'll simply combat your opinion of me with a reaction to being referred to as a racist in the same fashion European American's have always: 'I HAVE PLENTY OF WHITE FRIENDS'. Now you have to see that I'm not racist, right?
Now, of course you must know that I'm being facetious, but in the aformentioned paragraph you must see that just because something might not be seen clearly doesn't mean that its not of reality.
[Paradox] Statement that seems absurd but may be absolutely true. It was a pleasure corresponding with you ma'am. Thank you for your comment. It's has been taken into consideration and is most appreciated.
There is absolutely race. The term "human race" is generic, not technical. I am white, Aaron is black. We are different.
It's upsetting that people get into racially charged debates and play that safety card "oh, we're all the same, how could I possibly be racist when we're all the same". We're absolutely NOT all the same. My family line comes from Slovak countries and previously from the fertile crescent from thousands of years ago. Aaron's family line comes from Africa, if not his, then a large portion of the black population in America. Different diseases afflict us, our genes are radically different, we come from drastically different cultures with different religions and values.
That's the first portion of this mess of ignorance I wanted to address.
Second, and more importantly, white people in America do tend to glaze over 200 years of slavery and torture. If you were to ask any white person on the street what's up with reparations, he or she would probably say "I didn't enslave anyone, go talk to someone else". Unfortunately, our (white) ancestors kidnapped a lot of people from their homes, ripped families apart, raped, pillaged and then sold whoever was left as slaves in another country across the ocean. When all that was over, the people who actually did it died off and white people went on with their lives. The black people who were displaced, however, are still here and under serious distress. So, speaking for myself, if I don't explicitly address the issue, it's because I'm a little embarrassed that my a-hole forefathers would do something so inhuman.
So, Aaron, I don't appreciate the broad brush either.
And Jerry, what do you know? Most likely, you have an ancestor that did something inhuman to another race. People thought a lot differently back then.
"Broad brush, Sir; quite the contrary! I would refer to it as a loose general observation! Your comment was passionate, had a real kick too it, observant, understanding, educated, but full of fear.
I address the covert problems of our society generally not broadly. You, Sir in your statement:
"So, speaking for myself, if I don't explicitly address the issue, it's because I'm a little embarrassed that my a-hole forefathers would do something so inhuman".
Creating the debate will do nothing to ease the pain, but for me it affirms my proclamation that NOTHINGS CHANGED. And I respond to this truth in the words of GI Joe ... KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE ... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JOE!
Thank you for your comment (s). It's most appreciated!
