Christmas songs

That time of year is fast approaching. As we watch TV, go shopping drive in our cars with the radio on we will be deluged once again with Christmas music. I have been listening to this for many years and have enjoyed the words and melodies. I would have a hard time picking out my favorite but I have no problem choosing the worst Christmas song ever written. Ra pa pa pum ad infinitum. The little Drummer Boy. Monotonous in notes and words, repetitious melody that is dumb to begin. Lazy writer using "drum" sounds instead of lyrics. I don't know which committee decided this was a "Christmas" song to be played along with "O holy Night," and "Silent Night" and the many others. I can assure you, I wasn't on it, oh well, thanks for the knob that changes stations or turns the radio completely off.

I have to agree with you here Lionel, never thought much of that song, like the carols best but then there is White Christmas which I love, can't believe it is that time of year again...already

White Christmas is the one I love the most!! The movie is my favorite, and even though you can get it on DVD, watching it on tv with a nice cup of hot choc, and the lights down, nothing beats that!! It's comes faster and faster every year it seems!

White Christmas, a beautiful song and a classic movie. No one had a voice like Der Bing. Smooth and effortless. Nothing like the crap we hear on the radio nowadays.
