The Journey Home
©2009 Robert C. Burnham
God created mountains
So I would learn to climb
He put some dirt before me
Removing my fear of grime
He set rough seas before me
That I might swim across
And made the stars-filled heavens
So in pride, I’d not get lost
Sometimes he’s made me hunger
So I would appreciate dinner-time
And taught me it is better
To be fruitful on the vine
And on days my well runs dry
It is by His nurturing hands
For by my occasional hardships
I have grown to understand
He has never made a promise
That He has not fulfilled
For I am humble and quite satisfied
To find favor in His will
And one day upon His bosom
I will rest my weary head
I’ll know no more pain and sorrow
And I’ll be home once again!

Although, like in your comment to dawn, hearts as well as journeys can be strangers.
Very good write my brother. Nice flow.
Ku's words appear beautifully, as if on cue.

So from the heart it is almost a prayer. "It is not the destination, but the journey that counts."

OK, what's pea1 and pea2? Just being well... nosy.
Life is a journey, but we'll all be together at the end. And yes, we will be weary.

I like it Kushal - 10 on your card
Even the worst struggles of our days
Are never made for us too hard
I hope you don't mind if I paraphrase?
God challenges you to grow
to reach, strive and to roam
and in the end you know
that he will welcome you home
I am cheering here, 10,000 miles away.

GASP! Smile... so that's why the towering blue mountains reach up into the clouds so high.
And taught me it is better
To be fruitful on the vine
There is so much said here. Bear fruit now!
For by my occasional hardships
I have grown to understand
He has never made a promise
That He has not fulfilled
