I REMEMBER WHEN I FIRST JOINED THAT MEMBERS WOULD POST A VARIETY OF ARTICLES. I REMEMBER WANTING TO SPEND ALL DAY ON THIS SITE. NOW WHEN I LOOK AT THE ARTICLES ALL I SEE IS HATE. THE ONLY THING ANYBODY SEEMS TO BE WRITING ABOUT IS OBAMA...WHICH WOULD BE FIND IF IT WASN'T ALL ARTICLES DEDICATED TO HOW EVIL HE IS. EVERYBODY IS ALLOWED THEIR OPINION BUT IF YOU ARE GOING TO WRITE HATE ARTICLES AT LEAST BACK IT UP WITH FACTS. AND WHEN YOU DO BACK IT UP WITH FACTS MAKE SURE THEY ARE REAL. AND WHEN I SAY REAL I MEAN RELIABLE AND TRUTHFUL SOURCES. I FOUND AN ARTICLE ON OBAMA HATRED THAT WAS BASED OFF AN INTERNET OBAMA BASHING SITE. GET WITH IT PEOPLE.
I DON'T WANT RESPONSES ON HOW MUCH YOU HATE OBAMA OR WHY HE IS EVIL.
AND PLEASE PEOPLE REMEMBER WHAT FUN, LAUGHTER AND GAMES ARE. LIFE IS NOT MEANT FOR PERSISTENT AND CONSTANT UNHAPPINESS AND HATRED.

Guess I've missed the Hate Obama posts. Now if you're talking about disliking where he's leading the country, I understand those posts.

No, Chuck, I had no idea what she was talking about. She did share one particular post and I did not see it as an "I hate Obama" post. It was against his policies and practices, not against the man.
I don't see a link to any examples of 'hate' articles ... Did I miss it? Was it deleted? Is it in a different thread or a separate article?
If missed the "Hate Obama" postings that you must not spend to much time on Gather. You can't go five minutes without coming to some GOP pundits declare Obama as the next anti-Christ.
I've seen plenty of posts about not liking Obama's policies, but no hate posts about him.
I will say this about Obama, he's trying to fix things for us. So far, so good. Now if only he would get all those jobs that went overseas, back to America. Because I'm getting sick and tired of talking to people in India. They have know idea what I'm talking about and I can't understand a word they say. I have trouble with people's accents. My thought on this is to penalize companies that have taken jobs out of America. Just my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt.... LOL

Obama has been in office a very short time and has done more to try and put this country right than GW did in 8 years and frankly no one has done anything prositive for this country since Bill Clonton. I dislike the detractors they are the terrorists of today

I do not write about Obama. I do not write hate articles. This article sounds sort of mad to me. Read some of the recipes. Read some of the stories, Gather has some wonderful authors. Read some of the poems Gather has some wonderful poets. Read some of the young families exchanging tid-bits about their daily lives. Ignore the political articles if their "over excitement" (and I use that word lightly) upsets you. There are many things to read that aren't hate filled. I have a feeling that you have a lot of nice things to share too. I'll read them. Gather is a nice place. Welcome back.
I don't get into the political stuff so I guess I have missed it all. Gather has lots of fun places and articles maybe you should shop around and find where the happy people are, sports and politics are just too emotional for me.
You are just now finding articles of 'hate'? Were you not a member when Bush was President? My Lord--some of the articles that were about him were filled with intense hate and plain meanness. Like Debra, I suggest you ignore the political posts and go for some of the fun stuff--there's a lot of it on here--I try to be diverse, a little politics, some recipes and lots of health and fitness articles.
its not that i am just now finding them...its just that i am getting sick of them. the one i read before i posted this article really floored me because the kid was unfounded in his claims and ranted forever and argued with people with nonsensical answers. even worse is that i decided to look at his profile and he seems to be unstable, he's in the military, and ALL he ever writes about is hating obama, how evil obama is, and how obama is a treasonous fascist.
The answer is to not read any of his stuff. When you see his name, skip it and don't let him make you think we are all haters.
i just read the one article because it was a new post up so i clicked on it and that's when i decided to look at the rest of his pro...i didn't read the rest of them and i dare not because it will make me angry lol
To avoid the "hate" articles you see, try looking for groups where such comments are very unlikely: cooking, travel, and many other topics.
I guess that's because ploitics (especially strong opinions) makes for great feedback and many views and comments. Ad people go to such lengths to get points though.
I've found most people in life that are miserable on a regular basis, want everyone else to be. But this is America--freedom of speech.

they do it for the points and controversy mostly. then there are those who do it only for the attention that they are lacking in their real lives. and then there are the ones who truly believe the BS and want to try to convert you to their deluded way of thinking.
i pretty much ignore those articles as not being worth my time.
There seems to be a great deal of hate directed at Michael Jackson these days too.
Obama's alive and the president. I can understand hate directed at him via editorial. Michael Jackson is dead. I can't understand the need to editorialize hate for a dead celebrity.
When Bush was in office, the left protested the war, the Patriot Act and many other things. Indeed, I wrote a post about the rudeness of the crowd at the Obama inaguration towards Bush. There have always been differences between the left and the right. But, I'm sorry. These Glenn Beck types of wingnuts are not the conservatives of days past. They are scarey in my book and give me the creeps. They basically want white Christian America back and I think they may one day get violent to get it.

Interesting comment. I guess it depends on who you read on Gather. Me - honestly, I've never noticed. For some non-hate content check out my recent post on singer/songwriter Anne McCue...I love her song, "Through the Bright Light of Day" which talks about a woman walking in the morning reconsidering the contact the night before with a love interest.

I totally agree with you. I have seen so many mean spirited or hate filled articles about Obama and Michael Jackson. I can understand not liking someone or even not agreeing with them, but there is a difference between simple disagreement and some of the nasty things I have seen here. I have found this stuff on other sites on the internetas well, but the thing is I always thought that Gather drew a better crowd with higher standards than the average internet bashers. I hope it turns around.
