This week I am going to give away two books to 1 lucky winner.

Here I am again to tell you about my bookcase.

When I moved from California to Michigan about three years ago, I gave away many books because movers charge by weight, and all those hard cover books were heavy. I kept quite a few though, those I couldn't bear to part with. So after the move to Michigan, I had them all jammed into a bookcase.

Then we bought a house that had both a living room and a family room, which is ridiculous for just two people. So I constantly told my husband that I wanted to make the living room a library and that I wanted to buy a very large bookcase for it.

Keith and my father ended up building (my father designed, Keith built, actually, because my father is in such poor shape) a huge floor-to-ceiling builtin bookcase that covers an entire wall. My library is large, and, for some reason, the bookcase makes it look larger.

Although there are lots of books in the bookcase now, it still has lots of room for more. But books are expensive. So I really need a free book.

Once I fill this bookcase, we have three more walls for bookcases, although one wall is practically all window and another wall has a fireplace and two little windows.

More about my bookshelf: I have the books organized alphabetically according to author. Fiction and nonfiction are mixed together. That is except for books like reference books, old college textbooks (most of which I sold, which I could hit myself for doing), and human and pet medical guides.

Lets talk about my bookcase some more. I was saying that it has lots of space for more books. I also said I organize the books alphabetically by author. So far, every letter has its own shelf. (Q is with R, and X, Y, and Z are together right now.)

But I already have a full shelf.

Danielle, I have many books that I list on book sites like www.paperbackswap.com (hardcover & paperback books), www.titletrader.com and a couple of others. If the book doesn't go fairly quickly, then I am willing to give it away. Especially since we are moving to Minnesota in 2 weeks, I have a few that I am hoping to give away before then. If people were interestes in magazines I would do them as well~!
