My sister is in Houston. She lives in a low lying area so she went to a friend's house on higher ground.

Dan, you may end up getting some weather from it also. Hopefully it will go south of you though.
So, since I am now doing homebound instruction, the local district needs my certificate, so they are helping me get it. I got my highly qualified letter this week.
Monday I was subbing in a class that had a student that was observed by a teacher fairly high up in the administration. She was amazed at the job that I did due to the students I was working with. This particular child is very difficult to keep on task. I was doing it as a substitute teacher. When she happened to tell me what she thought in front of the secretary that helped me get the homebound job. The secretary spoke right up and told her to spread the word that I needed a job!
Later in the week, I was substituting at another school when a lady high up in the school system administration came in for a few minutes. She said that she had been hearing good things about me. HOPEFULLY this will make it easier for me to find a job next fall. The superintendent has pulled my application and looked at it and my supporting documents.
The homebound instruction is going pretty good. I wish it was going a bit faster, but the student simply can not handle working long enough at one time to get caught up faster. It may be 5-7 more weeks of it at least. So, I'm really excited!
Gas went up here 40 cents yesterday at the station where I tend to purchase my gas. Some stations went up much more than that. Many are out of gas and some are rationing it. I suppose it may be a good thing that I have not found a job in other county yet, huh?
I have a full pot of coffee too. Have a busy day. Exercise class,breakfast with my daughter and mom,errants and camping in the rain lather this afternoon.
