Wasn’t this supposed to be the era of post-racialism? Robert Reich, President Obama's economic adviser doesn't think so. In his appearance before Congress on structuring the stimulus plan on January 7th, Reich suggested that the package discriminate against white male workers:

Reich essentially wants Congress to create some means to ensure that stimulus funds don't pay the salaries of white males. He suggests that the lawmakers create criteria that will have this effect without being crass enough to say, No Whites Need Apply. Congress has mandated set-asides for women- and minority-owned businesses in government contracts, but even those don’t require the businesses to refuse to hire white male construction workers. This is outrageous... yet, where is the media coverage?
What Reich proposes is flat-out official racism by government, refusing to hire people on the basis of their skin color.
Didn’t our last election demonstrate a rejection of that kind of thinking?

Why don't you tell us about all of the horrible discrimination you have faced because you are white? I'd be interested to hear. I'm a white female and while I have been discriminated against for being female I don't ever recall being persecuted for my white skin.
An educated opinion based on fact has far more value than an uneducated one based on bias. This is why you ask a doctor if you need brain surgery rather than a mechanic and you ask a mechanic if you need a new transmission rather than asking your hairdresser.

I have made several articles last year explaining how my teen and my daughter have fell under discrimination because they are white. because where we live now.
I hope people didn't think discrimination and racial issues would suddenly disappear with out new president. In reality you should have felt the tension rising.
What makes me mad is whites are not allowed to yell out discrimination when called a name or other such. But others (not pointing out anyone out. Just giving examples) such as black and illegal aliens can.

There are of course situations in which individuals are mistreated by other individuals, but at no time in our history have whites as an ethnic group suffered institutionalized racism imposed upon them by their governments. Calling Robert Reich or President Obama a racist based on the above distortion of remarks taken out of context in that video is just plain wrong.
You benefit from a system of white privilege that you may not be aware of. There are many whites who get opportunities that would never be granted to a person of color. That system doesn't stop because of who is in the White House. I think that it might change as the years march on, but it quite alive at this point in time. There is redlining of African American communities that creates different financial packages in their neighborhoods than what is made available to predominantly white communities. Commerce is more effective in white neighborhoods across this country than in African American communities. There are just more available options to whites than there are to people of color.
Your issue about illegal immigration is a bit curious. Are you saying that illegal immigrants are not discriminated against? After years of working in immigrant communities teaching English as a Second Language, I would be to differ with you. The treatment that immigrants deal with in our country is appalling. The issue isn't about who calls who a name. It is about the results of one's effort. Whites tend to enjoy better results from working hard and applying themselves than immigrant groups and people of color.

He's suggested a man to head the IRS who has cheated at least $34,000 in gambling revenue and other income on his taxes (Tim Geithner), was in charge of the banking system that is now failing, and was in charge of the (failing) T.A.R.P. program (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troubled_Assets_Relief_Program).
Obama is a disease, of which the US will suffer for 4-8 years (provided he doesn't find a way to extend the length of his term, as he found a way to fake a US birth certificate).
I am good and mad, because I went to my Bible college today and found out that a student is losing his home because he got hurt on the job and he got fired for getting hurt on the job which should be and is illegal. This guy's wife just had a baby, and they have to move because they can't afford to live anymore, because some idiot fired this guy for getting hurt on the job, so that he didn't have to pay unemployment or workmen's comp. That is the worst thing that I have ever heard thus far this year. I am not happy about that at all. And I am going to join this thing that you have going with the link.

The EX-police officer sits in solitary confinement. The plaintiff's attorney says it shall probably be 2-3 years before his case comes to trial, so there he shall sit. Reich clearly states..."not only to white male construction workers", and he goes on to elaborate that white male construction workers must share the job-creation programs with others.
If you used your brain, instead of reacting to your insecurity and impaired self-worth, you might notice that the context of Reich's remarks relates to the speediest way to distribute job benefits in the economy.
He is absolutely right in his insistence that. if jobs are bid only to huge, highly-professionalized firms, the return of gains "to Main Street" will be slow.
The background to this discussion is the illegal and unjust way that the failed Bush administration wrote government contracts for war equipment that only the largest firms (like Haliburton or Raytheon) could bid on them.
Reich succeeded wildly in engineering job creation in the Clinton years, which was the last time that unemployment decreased among minority groups.
