my friends list is shrinking!???????

i am a little confused right now, last night i send out some friends requests, and well i had lots of friends on my list, anyways, just now i send out a friends request to someone and  the number of my friends has shrunken....

i am missing 10 friends, i dont know who i am missing but its 10 friends less then i had yesterday.

Does this happen here, or do people just disconnect without letting you know????

this is really confusing. 

hope someone can help me here

I don't think that I'm missing any today. After one of the last upgrades, I noticed that some of my older friend/connections were missing.

I've been disconnecting from a lot of people today, probably will keep on until I get my list to a small size, but I'm keeping you! I haven't told the people that I'm disconnecting from that I am disconnecting though.

I don't think I'm missing any. I know I delete friends from time to time for various reasons. Usually it's because their content doesn't interest me or they don't acknowledge me on this site in any way. If I delete them and they ask to be added again, I usually will add them back.

And, I don't usually inform them. Most of the time, they don't even notice which is why I delete them to begin with.

People don't let others know they are disconnecting. I have lost a few myself but that is fine as there are always new people to meet.

I don't disconnect normally. But I have 6 that I lost in the past few days. I'm sure it's either because of my mouth or they didn't appreciate a recent post I put up. :( SORRY EVERYONE!! That's me! Hate me if you want to, Love me if you can. That's my motto. lol

I've had disconnects occur because of glitches. Likewise, I've disconnected or been disconnected from, and no one usually informs anyone else that they're disconnecting.
Yeah, it happens. You say you don't like French toast and the next thing you know, everyone in France disconnects.

I don't know if I have had anyone disconnect. Perhaps that makes me shallow or something, but after you have so many, it is difficult to keep track. I do figure that I am short some friends as they are of a different political beleif than I. However, they have the right to be wrong, so I do not delete them. :)

The only reason I disconnect is if someone deletes comments arbitrarily or approves comments before posting.

I don't count them. But yes, all they have to do is click to remove a friendship. Having a lot is nice, but keeping up with all them is a lot of work.

I don't disconnect from people unless they haven't posted at least 6 months. But I to have recently noticed a decrease in my number of friends. I would if we have the same friends and they are just cleaning house. I figure if they were that good of friends we will find each other in our posts again. If not, it wasn't meant to be for one reason or other. I know how in real life friends come and go but true love remains the same. I think thats how the quote goes. If not, I like the saying that way.

I think it's a glitch in the system.
But Minipin has made a great comment, and I agree - people could be cleaning up as it is so hard to keep up with a huge list.

A few times my numbers have reduced by a small amount. I either assume it is a glitch or people disconnected for some reason. I wish we received a message when someone did disconnect. I never know who it is that is gone so it is more than likely someone who rarely posts. Once or twice I have checked on someone's page that I believed was connected to me and discovered we weren't. They had also believed we were connected so maybe it is just a glitch.

I think people disconnect quite often...for different reasons. Sometimes their list just gets too full and they keep the ones that are most active in regard to articles and commenting.

Yes, people do disconnect without telling you. But Gather also does have gremlins that consistently disconnect people from their connections.

People disconnect.

My mentor, Froggy the Gremlin, says that reports of Gather Gremlins are nonsense. He pointed out that the activity attributed to gremlins on Gather is well below the gremlin minimum standard of creative mischief. Any gremlins that did the things they're being blamed for here would be severely punished. A typical sentence for low quality work like that is a year working for the Keebler Elves.

I don't know how many friends I have so i wouldn't notice really. I know you can disconnect from people if you want to. I love your posts though. You always find cool surveys or nice freebies.
