Why would you not charge the parents??

So, for those of you in surrounding states, you may have heard this news story.

On August 28 a two-year old boy shot himself in the face with a pistol that his parents kept under their pillow. He died shortly after being airlifed to a local hospital.

Police are trying to decide whether or not to charge the parents with the accidental death of their son.

 Am I the only one that gets this?? Terrible two's!!!!  A two year old child will get into everything. They eat things, pick things up, make a mess out of everything they touch. They call it the terrible two's for a reason and no parent with a small child has any business keeping a loaded gun of any sort unlocked and within a child's reach.

Does anyone else agree with me that there is no queston that these people should be locked up?? Even for neglect if nothing else!!
