Hay your writting a novel too awsome. I'm curently in the middle of writting mine. With my novel I got insperation everywhere that I found fastinating and put bits and pices in my story. I also got suggestions from other friends or people that could give me a more in depth perseption on what is possible or impossible for a story to be semi real. Don't get discurraged if you don't think of something right away if you get a really cool idea write it down make notes with all the little tidbits that you wrote in your note book you might have a best seller on your hands. Another thing you could do is publish the short stories that you have. That's another thing that I'm currently doing. Good luck and I hope that my suggestions helped.
