My sister's in the hospital :(

My sister was admitted to the hospital last Friday because she couldn't walk. She woke up Friday morning with pain in both of her ankles. By late afternoon, she was having pain in one of her knees as well. When she got to the hospital she couldn't walk at all. So, she's been in there since and they've been doing blood tests like crazy. She's been tested for lupus, gout, lyme, arthritis......everything under the sun. On Tuesday, they found a blood clot in her leg. She was given injections in her stomach to dissolve and break apart the clot and last night they started her on blood thinners and the medication made her sick as a dog!!!!  Even now, they are still not sure if that is the only problem that she's having so they won't release her yet.  :(

 

I forgot to mention, I'm in CT and she's in upstate NY.  I've been calling her like 8 times a day.

Good thing they caught the blood clot when they did. You wouldn't want that traveling to the heart and cause a heart attack. Hope she feels better soon.

That's terrible! Too bad you live too far away to be there with her. At least she's getting good care. Please keep us posted on how she does!

i hope they figure out the problem with your poor sister.... its miserable enough being sick and its only worse when the doctors don't even know why.... i am sending good thoughts your way and your sister's way

I am so sorry to hear about your sister. I turly hope she is better soon and they find out what was wrong and what caused it to start with. She is lucky to have you at least a phone call away. Does she have other family there with her? I hope she is not alone. Take Care
