I haven't heard anything about ppl from other state helping out. I would be happy to donate materials but not $ to red cross!
Hoping the wild water gets under control soon there and everyone can have a decent summer to get lives back in order.

U wishing you laughter
HOWEVER, you should be aware that plasmodium that cause encephalitis (can cause death, especially in small children), liver inflammation and other symptoms can be absorbed into the body through mucus membranes (nose, eyes) or open abrasions and cuts.
Persons bathing or swimming in plasmodium contaminated water can easily be infected.
Plasmodium contamination is more likely during flooding because sewers are overfilled and water purfication plants are unable to deal with the water volume.
Take care, Diane.

Maybe distilled would be a better choice, I'm thinking, though it's still all in plastic, but be VERY careful not to drink what's in the faucet, till you get the all-clear.
Boiling water isn't always the answer either.... there was a housing project that went up many years ago (about 15? or so) and nobody tested the water, or someone paid someone else off - long story short, the water was bad as it had been farmland and the pesticides that were used were in people's water. Boiling it made the chemicals stronger - not weaker, so that's not the answer either.
If you're not on it, sign up for the FDA recall list - you get sometimes quite a few in your email box DAILY, which in itself, is scary, but it's good to be informed too.
Good luck - stay safe.
